The extraordinary story of Senatore Vini began in the early 1900s with Giuseppe Sculco, the great-great-grandfather who started a modest cellar in "Corfù Vecchiu." Later, Francesco Senatore continued the tradition, venturing into winemaking with a passion that has spanned generations. After World War I, Antonio Senatore planted new vineyards in the 1930s, laying the foundations of today's family-run wine estate. In the 1940s, Antonio and his brother Raffaele expanded the business by building a stone cellar in “Corfù Novu,” which became the heart of Senatore Vini for nearly half a century. The family's unwavering dedication to quality winemaking is evident in how subsequent generations continued to grow the estate. Giuseppe and Franco, the next in line, inherited the vineyards and learned the art of viticulture from a young age. Raffaele and Salvatore, although becoming medical professionals, still remained deeply connected to the family roots. In a modernizing effort, they planned a new wine complex in the beautiful San Lorenzo region in Ciró Marina. The family’s new generation—Antonio, Emilio, and Vito—has now taken over, carrying the winery into the future. They blend the wisdom of their ancestors with modern techniques to ensure that Senatore Vini remains a leader in Calabrian winemaking, known for its deep connection to the land, the art of winemaking, and enduring family traditions. Today, Senatore Vini stands as a symbol of perseverance, respect for the land, and mastery of winemaking, passed down through generations, making it a legend in the history of Calabrian viticulture.
