About Winery and Wines
Nita Winery is deeply rooted in the rich soils of Priorat, where the essence of terroir is woven into every bottle. The winery operates on five estates, each featuring the region’s signature slate-based soil, known as licorella. This unique soil structure forces the roots to penetrate deep into the earth, resulting in small but highly expressive grape yields. Guided by sustainable practices, Nita Winery honors ancient traditions, following lunar cycles for everything from pruning to harvesting. The team, led by Meritxell Garden, strives to craft wines that reflect the rugged, mineral-rich landscape. Every bottle tells the story of the land, offering a sensory journey into the Priorat region.
Nita Winery produces wines that embody the spirit of Priorat. The flagship wine, Nita, is a youthful expression of the region, made from grapes grown in a variety of soils across different villages. Another standout is Magran, a 100% Grenache from the Partida Les Manyetes estate, reflecting the terroir with authenticity and depth. A more traditional offering is the rancid wine, made from grandfather Micola's Grenache grapes and aged through a centuries-old method. This wine is sun-soaked and barrel-aged, blending vintages in a process that yields a unique, time-honored taste.
These wines are clean, rounded, and transport the drinker straight to the vineyards of Priorat, embodying the heritage and hard work that goes into their creation.
