About the Winery
Castello del Trebbio, located in the heart of Chianti Rufina, Tuscany, is a historic estate blending winemaking, agritourism, and sustainable agriculture. Purchased by the Baj Macario family in 1968, the castle has evolved under the vision of Anna Baj Macario and Stefano Casadei into a flourishing winery and farm. The estate follows the Biointegrale® philosophy, emphasizing harmony with nature. Visitors can enjoy the estate’s rich history, scenic beauty, and its diverse offerings, from wine and olive oil production to agritourism and organic products.
About the Wines
Castello del Trebbio's wine production is rooted in Chianti Rufina’s heritage, with a focus on Sangiovese and Trebbiano, while also showcasing Mediterranean varieties like Merlot and Syrah. The estate adopts Biointegrale® methods, ensuring eco-friendly vineyard management and combining traditional winemaking with innovative techniques such as terracotta amphora aging. This ancient method enhances the expression of each terroir, variety, and vintage, creating elegant wines like their signature Chianti Rufina DOCG, which highlights the authentic flavors of the Tuscan landscape.

Beautiful place.
Our guide Francesco was very good; in English, due to the presence of a Japanese friend of ours, he explained the history of the family that owns the castle and the history of the wines produced.
Excellent experience
We visited the splendid medieval cellars, then we moved inside the Castle, where we admired some halls; the tour concluded with a tasting of their wines accompanied by cured meats and cheeses.
