5 Unforgettable (Matteo)For the longest time travelling to Sant'Andrea in Percussina to explore and see the villa and tavern that Machiavelli spent his time in exile has been a dream of mine. This tour and wine tasting was purchased as a birthday present for me and it lived up to every single expectation. Our day started with a nightmare, there was a general strike which meant the public transport we had planned to get was cancelled. We got the cab but we were running late for our tasting and private tour. We got in contact with Il Borgo Machiavelli who were nothing but understanding, helpful and reassuring. Once we arrived, we were immediately escorted to our table in the gorgeous tavern. The staff listened attentively to our dietary and allergen concerns and repeatedly double checked they had everything right which was much appreciated. We had never done a wine tasting before so were not sure what to expect but Julia, our guide, was absolutely incredible in her descriptions of the wine and what to look out for when tasting. We learnt an incredible amount and genuinely got to taste the best wine we had ever had. The meal was unbelievable. We were met with an incredible platter of food which catered to the vegetarian and milk allergy needs of my partner. The food was of the highest quality and of our entire week in Tuscany, this meal was by the far the best of ant establishments we had been too. For me, the highlight was the tour. I have read much of the work by Machiavelli including his letters he wrote when at this very location so I was incredibly excited to see the premises. Our guide Julia gave an incredibly in depth tour with details and facts that made the experience all the better. The tour is so in depth and you learn so much about what Machiavelli’s life here must have been like. Whether you know a lot about Machiavelli already or nothing at all, I think there is something for all to appreciate about walking in the footsteps which inspired on of the first ever political scientists. Once our tour was finished, the staff continued their hospitality by offering to help book us a cab back to the city given the transport strike. We are so incredibly grateful for this experience and implore anyone reading this to book this experience for themselves because it really is worth it. Thank you to all the staff for the best birthday present ever.

5 Exquisite! Top 10 Wine Experiences. (Alice)First, we appreciate Windering for providing easier access to the winery because we were unsure about booking. Second, the people, place, and wine are so unbelievably underrated. It's f****** stupid how good the wine is :-) The view is unreal, and if you're into wine dogs, Bacchus rules! The people are simply lovely. Request food, olive oil, water and just relax, settle in and take a breath. Ora, 360, Paolina, Mio, Granaio... They're all fantastic. We ordered, re-ordered from the US, and will do so again soon. Thanks! The Horns

5 Vigne meravigliose (Patrizia)La visita è stata guidata da una ragazza (non ricordo il nome) che parlava in inglese fluente - i miei ospiti erano dalle Hawaii, ma c’erano persone da tutto il mondo. Dopo una sosta tra le meravigliose vigne ci ha mostrato la cantina e spiegato il procedimento dei vari vini nelle loro botti. Una cantina super pulita e attrezzata nonchè decorata con gusto! La degustazione infine si svolgeva dentro la sala apparecchiata e con un ottimo tagliere di formaggi e salumi. A casa abbiamo gustato il numero 3 accompagnato ad una bistecca fiorentina con il ricordo di questa bellissima esperienza!

5 Unique, informative and exceptional (Valeria)Alessandro was a wonderful host and advocate for Le Cinciole, the Panzano community and the sustainable practices they have helped to pioneer across the Chianti region. I arrived on licking day and was able to see grapes being picked and sorted before maceration. The tour included a walk through the vines, a rich history of the the winery and the region, tasting grapes off the vine and a large selection of ale Cinciole wines (including a 2009 Chianti Classico that was unbelievable!) Hands down the best wine tasting experience I have ever had and the wines are spectacular - I have already found a stockist back home! Special thanks to Alessandro and to Ella the dog. Worth every penny.

4 Informative and friendly (Nunzio De Luca )Had a great tour. Cosmo showed us around he was very friendly and hus English is very good. He was very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions. It's a great little winery with some really nice wine and nice informal feel. Plus the wine is very nice.

4 Cheers! (Lorenzo)Sweet, small, family operated local vineyard in the picturesque town of Monteforialle. Small, tasty nibbles and a tasting of 4 wines made for a nice way to spend a hour or so of the afternoon. The tour was short and sweet and there were 8 other visitors present.

3 Rustic, enjoyable and personal (Giorgio)This was a simple but real life tour of a family owned and run winery. The host’s English was difficult to understand at times but we still enjoyed the tour, his friendliness, and learning about the winery! The location and the surroundings were scenic but simple. The wine was very good and we were able to enjoy 4 different wines and were offered seconds if we desired! Compared to other wineries, it seemed a little more expensive. But I would still recommend visiting!

5 Vespa Queens (Panzanello)Our last stop in Tuscany and it was simply amazing. Met at the door by multiple family members and then taken on the tour by the adorable 21 year old son of the owners who was not just knowledable but also endearing and entertaining. A beautiful home cooked lunch (don’t try to say not too much because they will give you more!) we thought we were full until the incredible lasagne came out which was polished off followed by a delicious pork snitzel with tomato on top. Simple but beautifully done. All the while the beautifully paired wine kept coming with incredibly generous pourings. The most incredible way to spend our last few hours in the Chianti Classico region. Lovely place.

5 Great wine tasting experience (Tatsu)A friend and I really enjoyed our wine tasting experience at Fattorio Lavachio. Wonderful host who was very welcoming and informative. Delightful location and the selection of 4 wines we tasted were excellent. Learned a lot about the vineyard and the winemaking process. Highly recommended. 4 Visit to Casa Sola May 2025 (Matteo)We ended up with an individual tour and lunch. Our guide was very friendly and knowlegeable about the wines and the area. The wines were really good and enjoyed the selection of cheese and ham and the food pairings with the wine went very well. Unfortunately the message about my food allergies on the booking didn’t seem to have got through so we didn’t get the lasagne. It was rainy so we ate inside. Lovely old building with great views and nice dining area, although no view from inside, nice traditional winery

5 Great experience! (Paolo)We are very happy to have found tenuta l’Apparita ! A very small and independent wine producer with a special attention to his wine. We loved the Vigna and Cantina visit and of course the tasting itself. Francesca is very knowledgeable about the wine and the process and you can feel she cares a lot about the product and the Chianti territory. She proposed a tasting of the same wine but different vintage and it was really interesting to see how much the wine can change in one year only. We truly recommend to visit this small producer and to taste his excellent San Giovese wine.
