Château Couronneau
About the Winery
A Legacy of Sustainability and Renewal in Bordeaux
In 1994, my parents took on the challenge of restoring Château Couronneau, a historic family vineyard that had fallen into disrepair. With a vision to revive its beauty, they worked tirelessly to rebuild crumbling walls, repair roofs, and rejuvenate neglected vineyards, transforming it into the picturesque estate it is today.
Commitment to Organic and Biodynamic Farming
Inspired by my mother's dedication to the land, we transitioned to organic farming in 1997, marking the start of our sustainable viticulture practices. After years of biodynamic experimentation from 2002 to 2007, we proudly achieved Demeter certification in 2007, solidifying our commitment to environmentally friendly farming.
Our focus on sustainability has only grown stronger. We have invested in renewable energy technologies, such as electric tractors and solar panels, to harness the estate's natural resources. By integrating livestock like sheep and chickens, along with vegetable gardens, we have created a self-sustaining ecosystem that enhances the health of our vineyard.
At Château Couronneau, we believe that nurturing the land is essential for producing exceptional wines. Our dedication to sustainable practices not only benefits the environment but also enriches the quality of our wines, making each bottle a true reflection of our commitment to the land and its future.
