Great terroirs are recognised by their ability to produce great wines.

Situated 55 km from Bordeaux, opposite the Médoc, the Blaye region extends along the right bank of the Gironde estuary. Spread over 7 hectares, in two separate plots, our vines are ideally located in the "golden triangle" of the Blayais - between Cars, Saint Genès de Blaye and Saint Seurin de Cursac.

Coming from a family of great Bordeaux wine merchants and grand nephews of François Mauriac, Laetitia and Arthur Mauriac (sister and brother) have grown up in the world of wine.

In 2006, after very different paths, they decided to join their common passion and to take over a vineyard.

Convinced of the richness of their region and seduced by the terroirs of Blaye, they set out to produce high quality wines with rigor, to bring out all the nobility and character of these lands in the wines of "Château la Levrette".

In 2011, following a long illness, Arthur leaves us. More than a passion, wine was for Arthur a lifestyle that had to learn to leave the conventions without forgetting the Bordeaux heritage. Laetitia decides to continue the adventure to make this unusual wine live.

This very rare wine is already featured in some of the most famous and demanding Michelin-starred restaurants as well as the finest wine retailers in Bordeaux and St Barthelemy.

The vineyard obtains the certification of wine from organic farming in 2013

The wines produced in this way have a particularity and a character that reflects the personality traits of each one, associated with the expression of the Blaye terroir.

We want to preserve the Bordeaux tradition while going off the track by innovating every day.

CHÂTEAU LA LEVRETTE - RED : It will charm you with its spicy aromas and its remarkable fidelity over time. 60 % Merlot, 40 % Cabernet Sauvignon. With its carmine color and purplish tints, it reveals an intense bouquet of red and black fruits with notes of vanilla and toast. After a frank and soft attack, the ample, rich and full mouth reveals a crunchy fruitiness, supported by tender and tasty tannins, a guarantee of a good aging. It will charm you with its spicy aromas and its remarkable fidelity in time. 

CHÂTEAU LA LEVRETTE - WHITE : It will surprise you with its power and its atypical side. 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Bright yellow color, aromatic complexity with vanilla and fruity notes (kiwi, mango), citrus and yellow and white fruits (grapefruit, peach, candied fruits), round and rich in attack, full in mouth, long and fresh finish. It will surprise you by its power and its unusual character.

LA PETITE - RED : 80 % Merlot 20 % Cabernet Sauvignon. Intense purple wine with light ruby reflections. A nose with aromas of raspberry and blackberry associated with toasted notes. In the mouth, a fleshy and rich matter, marked by aromas of black fruits associated with smooth and fine woody tannins. 

LA PETITE - WHITE : 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Bright pale-yellow color. Fine expressive nose with notes of citrus and yellow and white fruit (grapefruit, peach). Smooth attack with grapefruit and floral notes enhanced by a pleasing freshness. Slightly mineral and harmonious finish.

LA PETITE - ROSÉ : 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Bright pink color. Expressive nose with notes of red fruits, raspberry and strawberry. Round and smooth attack where we find strawberry and raspberry. Aromas of wild berries highlight a nice liveliness and a pleasing freshness.
