Château Saint Nabor
(Winery in Rhône, Côtes du Rhône)
About Winery and Wines
Château Saint Nabor is a family-run wine estate in the Rhône Valley where quality and tradition have been handed down through 6 generations. Jérémie and Raphaël Castor are independent winegrowers, continuing to work of their ancestors by combining tradition and technology.
Committed to a policy of "Sustainable Agriculture", the relationship between man and the land is strengthened. The vineyard is managed in such a way as to provide it with the best possible conditions in the healthiest possible environment, all the while strengthening the vine's ability to defend itself against attacks by disease and pests.
The vineyard covers 160 hectares and is planted with traditional Rhône Valley grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault for the red and rosé wines, and Grenache Blanc, Roussane, Viognier and Chardonnay for the white wines. New grape varieties are regularly planted to adapt the crops to the climatic conditions.
The varied soils give all their personality to the wines produced. The terraced soils are based on limestone and clay with varying concentrations of rock, producing powerful, full-bodied wines. Valley soils are made up of sand and clay, producing light, aromatic wines. The powerful Mistral maintains a healthy environment.
