About Winery and Wines

Domaine Exeterra officially came into being in 2022. But it is the culmination of a 20-year dream by Florence and Boris Kachelhoffer.

After more than 17 years working for various Alsatian wine estates, they were allowed to rent 1.2 hectares of vines in 2021. That was the start of the adventure. Since then, the area of vines worked has increased to 3,5 hectares. All the vines are cultivated using organic and biodynamic farming methods.

They aim to look after the vines so that they produce high-quality grapes, because for them this is the essential basis for making good wines. Taking care of the vines means, first of all, getting to know them by observing them. Then it means carrying out all the work of the season, adapting each one to the climatic conditions of the vintage to support the vine and enable it to find its balance in all circumstances. Finally, it means creating an environment in which the vines can flourish, an environment teeming with life where plants and animals live in symbiosis.

At Domaine Exeterra, winemaking is guided by precision and restraint, ensuring that each bottle authentically reflects the vines from which it comes. Florence’s philosophy is to accompany the wines just as they accompany the vines — a process that requires patience, observation, and occasionally just a touch of sulfur to preserve their integrity.

The estate produces around ten distinctive wines, including single-varietal expressions such as Sylvaner, Riesling, and Pinot Noir, as well as refined blends that capture the diversity and richness of Alsace’s terroir.
