About the Winery
Wine is a story of the grapes, but also of the roots. Each generation ensures the care it lavishes on its land and biodynamics has reigned on the Estate for several decades. Without synthetic chemicals harmful to its underground life, the soil, an organism in its own right, brings its balance and vital energy to the plantations.
This respect for the land preserves and magnifies our terroir just as much as it enhances the vines… and the wine!
The richness of our subsoil and exceptional microclimatic conditions are at the origin of our grand cru, Brand. It is one of the 51 Alsace grand cru appellations and its land of fire, crowned with legend, gave birth to Dragon's Blood, the Domaine's star wine.
About the Wines
Alsace enjoys extraordinary geography and climate. Turckheim, a tourist town located near Colmar, is home to the 12.5 hectares of vines of Domaine François Baur, the cradle of our winemaking saga since 1741. Here, rooted in three different terroirs, cultivated with a love of grapes and respect for the earth, our vines offer their wonderful aromas to our renowned wines.
