Etienne Simonis
About the Winery
Domaine Étienne Simonis is a 14th-generation family estate in Ammerschwihr, in the heart of the Alsace Wine Route. Today, Étienne and Katia run the domaine with one deep conviction: let the soil and the grape speak freely. Since 1999, the estate has been certified biodynamic Demeter — the most demanding certification in the field. Here, we not only tend the plant, but we also tend the place. The terroir comes first. Everything else follows.
About the Wines
From the crisp tension of a hillside Riesling to the amber depths of an orange Pinot Gris, every wine at Domaine Étienne Simonis tells the story of a specific place, a specific season, a specific moment. We work with Alsace's great traditional varieties — Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Sylvaner, Crémant — and we let each one find its own voice depending on the soil it grows in. Some wines are made to be opened young, with friends. Others ask for patience and reward it. And our Cuvées Insolites push further still — unexpected vinifications, unconventional blends, wines that make you stop and think. No industrial yeasts, no additives. Just the vine, the terroir, and time. The best way to understand what we do is to come and taste it here.
