I’m not an expert in vines, but I can honestly say that atmosphere was great! Gentleman who showed us the vinery was very professional, polite and answered every question. Very interesting tour.

We were 8 people from the UK and we had a great experience. Leonardo has knowledge beyond his years and his great English meant we had a lovely time. Lots of questions answered and tasted some great wine. Thank you

Interesting but fell short of expectations

Small local winery with an interesting selection of wines including some made with innovative techniques. For example, a merlot aged in Roman style clay pots. However, they didn’t have the staff to deal with the visit. There was only one young lady covering everything including a steady stream of local customers (which is of course is a good sign). However, the knock on effect was that she was unable to devote that much time to our wine tour/tasting. Hence it fell well short of expectations.

A nice hostess showed us around the cellar and area where the grapes were growing. After the story she told us about making wine, we tasted four different wines.

The wines tasted very good. After the visit we bought three bottles for a good price.

Piacevole sorpresa

About Winery and Wines

Located on 150 sun-kissed hectares, Casalbosco overlooks the valleys between Prato and Pistoia, with the stunning Apennines providing a picturesque backdrop. Our hillside vineyards, perfectly positioned south-southeast, are ideal for cultivating a variety of grapes including Cabernet, Merlot, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, and Trebbiano. The Becagli family passionately manage the winery, harmonizing tradition with innovation. Each of our wine bottles features a new design inspired by the Romanesque decorations of the Cathedral of Pistoia, symbolizing our deep connection to the region. Visitors to Casalbosco are welcomed into a rich history of winemaking, rooted in the great Tuscan tradition, while embracing the future with an exceptional wine expert guiding our craft.

Casalbosco’s wine portfolio reflects the soul of Tuscan winemaking, with an emphasis on quality and tradition. Our lineup includes Chianti DOCG, Chianti Riserva DOCG, and the bold Carminio and Dorato, alongside our standout wine, Fuor Civitas, dedicated to the city of Pistoia. Recently, we have added Terrecotte, a monovarietal wine vinified and aged in terracotta amphorae, blending ancient methods with modern elegance. At the heart of our collection is Orchidea, a rich ruby-colored wine that captures the warmth of our vineyards. This special wine, enclosed in an elegant screen-printed bottle, is a tribute to the memory of Raffaella Becagli, symbolizing the passion and love that define our winery. Each wine at Casalbosco is crafted with care, evoking the beauty and history of the Tuscan hills.
