About the Winery

Fattoria di Bacchereto is a historic estate nestled in the scenic hills of Carmignano, offering panoramic views from Florence to Pistoia and surrounded by the lush Montalbano woods. With origins tracing back to the 15th century under the Medici family, the estate has been under the care of the Bencini Tesi family since the 1920s, who began its renowned oil and wine production. In 2002, Fattoria di Bacchereto embraced biodynamic farming, preserving the natural beauty of its surroundings while crafting wines that reflect the harmony between tradition and nature. Visitors to this estate can immerse themselves in a rich history and experience the authentic spirit of Tuscany.

About the Wines

Fattoria di Bacchereto's wines embody the essence of the Carmignano region, where tradition meets biodynamic innovation. The estate cultivates 8 hectares of vineyards, growing Trebbiano, Sangiovese, Canaiolo nero, and Cabernet Sauvignon at altitudes ranging from 200 to 500 meters above sea level. The flagship wine, Carmignano, is a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo nero, and Cabernet Sauvignon, produced using indigenous yeasts and free from chemical additives. This wine captures the estate's commitment to biodynamics, offering a taste that is both authentic and deeply expressive of its unique terroir.

Very pleasant
A genuine, family atmosphere; the owner was very kind and very passionate in telling the story of the territory and of her business.
Very good wines, full-bodied and important.
Very good accompanying food.
The only flaw: the bruschetta had too much garlic, a seasoning that isn't to everyone's taste.

Visit to Fattoria di Bacchereto
A farm immersed in nature, among vineyards and olive groves.
A delightful welcome from the lady, owner of the entire production, both wine and olive oil.
Our visit was focused mainly on the winemaking part and it was truly very interesting, as the lady also elaborated on topics related to vinification that are not usually covered during classic tastings.
Wines of excellent quality, the vin santo truly sublime.
Obviously highly recommended.

Wonderful
A wonderful discovery of a fascinating and interesting world, where nature and passion unite to create wines and vinsanto of the highest quality.
Mrs. Rossella who welcomed us was very kind and you can immediately tell that she does this job with love and dedication. Her choice to adopt biodynamics was visionary and it shows: every sip of wine is a unique experience.
The wines and the vinsanto were simply delicious, with an authentic and natural flavor that makes you feel as if you were part of nature itself. The visit to the farm was a complete experience, with detailed explanations and guided tastings.
If you are looking for a unique and authentic experience, do not hesitate to visit this biodynamic farm. Mrs. Rossella and her team will make you discover a world of wines and flavors that will leave you breathless!

Great wines
I visited this beautiful winery nestled in the woods at 200 meters above sea level. A biodynamic winery belonging to the 'Triple A' movement, the ownership pays the utmost attention to the quality of the grapes to obtain fine wines without the aid of enological products. I was also able to taste the Sangiovese must that had been fermenting for a few days, a sweet, delicious, not-yet-alcoholic juice, from which you can perceive the quality of the grapes used. The visit to the vineyard and then to the characteristic cellar, passing through the 'caratelli' room where the Vinsanto ages for 8 years, concluded with a tasting of their 4 wines accompanied by bruschetta with the oil of their own production. The wines are full-bodied and elegant, both the reds and the macerated white, a tannic white with the color of gold that paired perfectly with the bruschetta with tomato sauce. And what to say about the Vinsanto? A delight with notes of dried fruit, dried figs and honey, with a savory freshness that would make you drink more, and more, and more.
I suggest eating the bruschetta (delicious) after the wine tasting because they are rich in garlic.

A surreal and fantastic tour and tasting experience
Roselle, the owner was very gracious and the story telling about the history of the place from the owner’s perspective which was mimirising, It transformed us back to the old times! It was surreal! It is an organic vineyard, so everything they do is almost manual. The place is clean and has a very family oriented feel. We feel like stepping into a family affair and being well treated as guests. The tasting room has the feel of someone’s kitchen, very clean, well presented and has a rustic feel (old/traditional) - we love it!
The suggestions we have is to put the vineyard address on the winedering website to ensure that we have the correct coordinates! The vineyard should have clear markings for visitors’ parking and to the reception but otherwise it was all minimal hiccups and did not shadowed our wonderful experience!
