Fattoria di Poggiopiano

Winery in Chianti, Hills of Florence

About the Winery

The Poggiopiano Estate, nestled in the hills of Florence, has been a symbol of passion for the land, wine, and olive oil since 1935 when brothers Carlo and Alberto Galardi, descendants of Florentine merchants, acquired the property. This marked a significant turning point in the Galardi family’s history, shifting their focus towards the production of high-quality olive oil and wine. In 1985, Mauro Galardi, then in his twenties, channeled his personal passion into his profession, studying agronomy and enology as a self-taught enthusiast. Today, Mauro continues to lead the estate with his daughter Martina, embracing the family’s traditions while integrating modern advancements in winemaking and olive oil production. Their goal is to share the beauty of the land and its fruits with others, offering a peaceful and enriching experience in the tranquility of the countryside.

About the Wines

At Poggiopiano, our wines are crafted with a deep respect for tradition, coupled with the latest innovations in enology. We focus on quality over quantity, ensuring that every bottle reflects the unique characteristics of our land. Our vineyards, bathed in the Tuscan sun and nurtured by the rich soil of the region, produce exceptional wines that express the essence of this terroir. From robust reds to elegant whites, each wine is a testament to our commitment to preserving the integrity of the land and the craft of winemaking. In addition to wine, our estate is renowned for its extra virgin olive oil, produced with the same dedication to quality and tradition that has guided us for generations.

Among the vines with a feeling of home
Apericena among the vines, in an enchanting setting in its simplicity, family-run: excellent food, good wine, kindness and helpfulness of the owners and their family who run everything. Highly recommended both for a romantic dinner and for a moment to share with a group of friends.

Excellent choice
Everything was good, the owners were very kind, the wines excellent and the agriturismo's location perfect, immersed in nature and a few km from Florence, which we reached by public transport to avoid parking problems!

Feeling part of a story
Thanks to Martina's passion and experience, we were the protagonists of a journey into the history of the farm, the vineyards, and the olive groves.
A very well-illustrated and guided tasting of both extra virgin olive oil and wines!
And if you stay for at least a day... well, a glass of wine by the pool at sunset is priceless!!!
Thank you! M. Cristina, Mario, Alessandro, Edoardo
