About Winery and Wines
For generations, the Fraccaroli family of San Pietro in Cariano, called Matio, has dedicated itself to the cultivation of the vine in the charming town of San Pietro in Cariano and more precisely in the locality of Cariano in the Classic Valpolicella.
In 1946 his grandfather Giovanni, back from the war, went from the production of the grapes to the transformation into Valpolicella and Recioto wine. And it is from here that the wine experience of our family starts with the first two hectares in Cariano.
The tradition and work then continue under the guidance of dad Mario, who, with great passion and dedication, dedicates himself to the care of the vineyards and the cellar; leads the company to bottle and sell wine retail by adding the production of Amarone and Ripasso. Also supported by the passion and tenacity of mother Teodora, they purchased the vineyards of Fumane, Gargagnago and Palazzolo.
In 2010, after completing his studies as a winemaker, the baton was passed on to his son Flavio, who, attentive to the traditional teachings of his father and the studies carried out, continued the company with the same passion for the production of these great wines. With the collaboration of dad Mario and his sister Daniela we manage vineyards, cellar, and hospitality.

The company has a total of 12 hectares of property divided between Valpolicella and Bardolino. The vineyards for Valpolicella are located in San Pietro (plain), Fumane (pedecollina) and Traversagna (hill) localities accompanied by olive and cherry trees. The plots are raised in Veronese pergola, a traditional and typical system of our area.
The harvest is done strictly by hand both for the selection of the grapes for Amarone and Recioto (in September) and for the normal harvest for Valpolicella (in October).
The cellar is equipped with the necessary means to make quality wines by adding more modern means to traditional equipment. Vinification, maturation and aging are personally followed.
From here we get the classic Valpolicella wines. The young and fresh Valpolicella Classico Superiore, the modern and full-bodied Valpolicella Ripasso, the austere but engaging Amarone and the delicious Recioto. These are flanked by the fresh and summer pink of Basilio and the family selection produced in a limited edition: fruity and young Teodora dedicated to the mother and the structured and important Amarone Mario.
