About Winery and Wines
At Quadra Franciacorta, the grape takes center stage. It is nurtured with love and respect, in harmony with the surrounding territory. From this dedication come authentic Franciacorta wines that encapsulate the essence of the land in every bubble. These are not just wines — they are stories.
Step into the cellar and immerse yourself in a world of anecdotes, tales, and inspiration. Embark on a sensory journey that unveils the true character of Franciacorta, where passion and craftsmanship come together to create an unforgettable experience. Let the vineyards and cellar guide you through a tasting of Franciacorta wines, accompanied by experts who will reveal the secrets behind their creations.
The wines are a true reflection of the vintage and the territory. Every year, the philosophy of Quadra is interpreted in each Franciacorta, while preserving the distinctive style that defines the winery. This approach respects both the fruit and the expectations of those who appreciate the unique taste of Quadra Franciacorta.
The vineyards serve as natural lifelines that bring vitality to each wine. The expression each plot imparts to the vine is unique and deeply intertwined with the microclimate and soil composition. The morainic amphitheater and the climate influenced by Lake Iseo contribute to this chorus of interpretations, giving the grapes a strong and distinctive personality.
The Quadra vineyards span 20 hectares, strategically distributed in the central and western parts of Franciacorta, from north to south. The first plantings began in the 1990s in the Marzaghette di Adro area. In the early 2000s, five additional key sites were added, ranging from Cologne (home to the winery) to Provaglio d’Iseo, Adro, Erbusco, and Corte Franca.
The primary grape variety is the aristocratic Chardonnay, occupying 60% of the vineyards. Pinot Noir, planted on hilly plots with morainic deposits, represents 20% of the total area. With the increased emphasis on Pinot Bianco, its share has been raised to 20%, identifying three distinct yet complementary environments. The latest addition, Erbamat, is cultivated in a new experimental vineyard located above the cellar.
The vineyard team manages 98% of the work in the field, following the natural rhythm of the seasons and carefully assessing the unique qualities each vintage offers across the various plots.
