Il Grop

Cantina Il Grop is located in Cedegolo, a tiny rural village nestled in the mountains of the Camonica Valley.

I'm Beppe, and I'll personally accompany you on this tour, discovering this unconventional and unconventional group of dreamers.

We're a tiny family-run business; we grow and vinify everything ourselves, and the cellars are at home, where I was born. However, the passion for wine wasn't a family affair, so first with my brother, who was the first to see a possible future in this field, and then with my wife, we gradually began to build this project.

About 3 hectares of cultivated land, at the foot of Mount Concarena—which we call simply Concarena—with poor, calcareous soils that lend salinity and freshness to our wines. Most of the land is terraced; we don't reach the extreme slopes of neighboring Valtellina, but in some fields, they are still steep.

We grow primarily in the municipalities of Cerveno and Losine, but small, historic vineyards are scattered throughout the upper valley, even in the most remote hamlets. These small vineyards were reclaimed from the forest, which over the years has covered and reclaimed hectares of countryside; pearls nestled in often pristine and difficult-to-reach locations, known as "CRUs," as the French call them, because the genius loci often isn't present and doesn't provide modern conveniences.
