About Winery and Wines
The winery 'Riccafana' in Franciacorta, is a historic Franciacorta winery which started production in 1973 under Gianni Fratus. Located on the southern slopes of Mount Orfano, is a unique environment that gives rise to mineral-rich, flavorful products with distinctive sensitivity.
His son Riccardo Fratus CEO is now the owner of the company and a pioneer in organic production in Franciacorta, known for its authentic, low-intervention wines on his 15-hectare vineyard.
Our winemaking approach has always been focused on respecting the characteristics of our grapes with a progressive reduction in chemical interventions both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Our top priority is the commitment to preserving the natural and biological complexity of our wines.
Since 2006, Riccardo Fratus has chosen to embark on a visionary path. Increasing attention has been devoted to caring for and respecting the land. The producer's intention was clear from the start: to offer a natural wine, a biological method that takes into account the precious characteristics of the Franciacorta territories and enhances their extraordinary organoleptic qualities. A philosophy above all: to respect nature in order to respect ourselves.

Our Organic Franciacorta line includes two classic Franciacorta, Brut and Satèn, cornertones of the territory; our ZeroZero the utmost expression of Riccardo Fratus' creativity and philosophy; a top-level passepartout, Pas Dosé Horta and our Teratis, an impactful red wine and a true rarity in Franciacorta territor.

Quartz and Mineral component of the soil of Monte Orfano enhances the product's flavor.
Aging on yeats from 30 months up to 90 months, to create a fine and elaborate final taste : the mineral flavor richness of each grape is elaborated by the yeasts into a final aroma of pastry and cream, a tranformation of the fresh sapid component in a long lasting complex taste.
Long product longevity up to 15 years on the shelf.
Early Harvesting in order to have control on the acidity level of the product.
Crops and production method certified organic BIO since 2006, all of our bottles are Organic products.
