An authentic encounter with the heart of Franciacorta
We were accompanied by Riccardo Fratus himself, the producer, who guided us with passion and generosity, sharing with us not only the technical steps of production, but also the deeper and more personal moments that have marked his history and that of the winery. He spoke to us like a father telling the life story of his children, and this authenticity made everything more special.
During the tasting, Riccardo chose to sit at our table, transforming the moment into something intimate, familiar, welcoming. We felt like guests and friends, not just visitors.
The wines? Excellent, full of character, elegant, alive. But what makes them truly unique is the air they breathe: that of passion, of respect for the land, and of the deep love that Riccardo puts into every bottle.
Take the time to listen, not just to taste. In a world that rushes, here you can still savor the beauty of slowness, of storytelling, of the connection with the land.
A unique essence. Wines and great passion
We have just returned from the guided tour at the La Riccafana Winery in Franciacorta and I must say it was an absolutely exceptional experience! The tour was conducted personally by the owner, Mr. Fratus, who showed a passion and a love for his work that were palpable from the very beginning.
Our day began with a walk through the vineyards, where we could admire the lands cultivated with vines and appreciate the care and attention with which they are managed.
Afterward, we moved to the cellars, where we had the chance to explore the various rooms and learn about the processes related to winemaking. Our host explained to us with clarity and expertise the different stages of production, from fermentation to bottling operations. Even though we couldn't see the journey from grape to bottle in real time, as the visit took place out of season, the detailed explanations still allowed us to understand the mechanisms and techniques used well.
The most exciting part of the tour was definitely the tasting moment, where we were able to taste some of the winery's best wines and appreciate their different nuances and unique characteristics. The opportunity to have a personal and passionate guide like Mr. Fratus made the experience even more

Riccardo Fratus hosted us on Saturday 6/10 in his winery for a very interesting couple of hours.
We took advantage of a couple of friends from Bordeaux coming to Italy, oenology enthusiasts like us, to look for a winery in Franciacorta that offered a food and wine experience.
I must say that the place is fantastic, that Riccardo is a wonderful person and that for the price of €33/person it is not at all exaggerated: 3 good wines from their production with well-poured glasses (not always the case in other wineries...) paired with cured meats, cheeses and breadsticks.
