Le Lune del Vesuvio

Winery in Vesuvius

About the Winery

Le Lune del Vesuvio is a winery rooted in the volcanic slopes of Mount Vesuvius, where vines have thrived since the 5th century BC, brought by the Greeks. Located at 300 meters above sea level within the Vesuvio National Park, the estate spans four hectares. The vineyards, planted in dark, porous soil that retains moisture naturally, produce grapes with strong, vigorous character. The vines, many of which are ungrafted, draw mineral richness and power from the volcanic terrain, creating wines with distinctive depth and intensity.

About the Wines

The estate produces a variety of wines that reflect the unique volcanic terroir of Mount Vesuvius. Each wine is crafted with the distinct characteristics of the region, embodying the rich mineral content and strength derived from the volcanic soil. Their range includes Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio, available in Bianco, Rosso, and Rosato, each reflecting the unique characteristics of the Vesuvian soil. The winery also produces Caprettone Spumante and still Caprettone, as well as Catalanesca del Monte Somma, each crafted to express the rich history and distinctive flavors of the region. These wines are available for purchase through their online shop.

Very kind and helpful staff. A very interesting small tour of the vineyards and an abundant, excellent quality lunch, as were the wines. Absolutely recommended!

Did not meet our expectations
Place not easy to find and difficult to access.
The experience did not meet our expectations.
The tour guide gave us a correct and interesting explanation, but his attitude seemed arrogant and during the meal, they served us meat that was off and his response was that the kitchen told him it was fine and that no one had complained.
We do not believe it was a professional attitude

Most enjoyable!
The vineyard tour was very short but adequate. However, the 5-course meal was memorable! Delicious from start to finish and very well put together. Thank you to our hosts!

Excellent
Helpful and friendly staff, we felt at ease in a family atmosphere. The homemade pasta with local tomatoes, like the cured meats and cheeses, recalls traditional flavors; the wine of their own production, tasted during lunch, paired with the dishes, excellent. A positive experience.
You must try the homemade pasta with the sauce made from three types of Vesuvius cherry tomatoes and the dessert with Pellecchiella apricot jam, a prized ancient variety from Vesuvius.

A wine journey between tradition, territory, and innovation
A simply extraordinary experience at Cantine Lune.
The tour was curated down to the smallest detail and allowed us to completely immerse ourselves in their history, a perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

The visit to the vineyards was exciting: walking among the rows, listening to the story of the territory and understanding the deep bond between the land and the wine makes everything even more authentic.

The final tasting was excellent, with high-quality wines explained with passion and expertise. Each glass tells a story made of respect for the past and a vision for the future.

An experience that goes beyond a simple winery visit: it is a true journey into the heart of viticulture, absolutely recommended for those who love wine and the stories that make it unique.

A highly recommended experience
I've been to several wine tastings in Spain, and this one surprised us with the undivided attention we received. The visit to the vineyards and the explanations we received were extremely interesting, and the subsequent meal accompanied by various wines was exceptional. The setting, at the foot of Vesuvius, is spectacular. Without a doubt, an experience worth repeating.
Everything was perfect, nothing to suggest.

The best experience!
We visited Naples on a cruise and booked this separately from the cruise options. The staff was SO KIND! The food and wine was INCREDIBLE! The protetti is beautiful. We truly felt like family. The only downfall was getting a taxi to get there (40 mins from port). But was totally worth it.
The ride was the toughest part.
