About the Winery
Schiopetto Winery, one of the most iconic producers in Friuli, has been a symbol of excellence in Italian winemaking since its founding. Located in the heart of the Collio region, Schiopetto was a pioneer in transforming the local winemaking approach by emphasizing purity, precision, and a deep connection to the terroir. The winery’s founder, Mario Schiopetto, was a visionary who revolutionized Italian white wines in the 1960s by introducing modern techniques that enhanced the aromatic and structural qualities of the grapes. Today, Schiopetto remains family-owned, with a commitment to upholding Mario’s legacy of quality, innovation, and respect for the land. The estate’s vineyards, spread across the rolling hills of Friuli, benefit from ideal conditions for cultivating native varieties that reflect the region’s unique terroir and climate.

The winery also produces structured red wines, highlighting the versatility of the region’s terroir. Schiopetto Winery
Great story, great winery
Excellent experience
We would have appreciated some breadsticks/snacks during the somewhat demanding tasting.
An experience to repeat
Extremely well-trained, friendly, and helpful staff.
Excellent wines and well explained.
Truly beautiful panoramic location.
We will definitely come back.
Excellent and interesting
Eat something beforehand! The tasting only includes wine without pairings, except for some breadsticks.
Highly recommended!
The visit was above expectations: all the phases of the winemaking process in the cellar were thoroughly explained to us, ending with a sensational wine tasting!
Experience highly recommended!
Excellent explanation on wine production
Full immersion, full tasting for 3 people
Introduction to the company's history, description and indication of the various grape varieties planted on the surrounding hills, production process described in great detail through the areas where processing and aging take place (too bad the barriques in the red wine cellar were not very visible: wood always has its charm...).
Extensive tasting at the nearby osteria (I would suggest accompanying it with some breadsticks).
Go there!!
