Ottima esperienza
Il cibo accompagnava perfettamente i vini che erano davvero buonissimi.
Molto comodo anche lo shop alla fine dell'esperienza perchè è impossibile non comprare qualcosa alla fine.

Tres dimensiones - maridajes: vino y comida, tierra y clima, visitantes y huespedes!
Cuando llegamos al lugar no habia un timbre o como avisar que habiamos llegado, lo hicimos llamando por telefono.

About Winery and Wines
A Zafferana, on the "Etna Wine Road" and must passage to reach the highest active volcano in Europe, is the Costa Farm ORO d'Etna.
The soul of the winemaker has always been in the history and in the ancestors of the Costa family. Even a cooper, grandfather "Neddu" among the younger generations of the family. Today he is the owner of a beautiful 5-hectare vineyard located at the entrance of Zafferana at 550 meters above sea level, on the eastern slopes of Etna, but facing the Ionian Sea.
Native grape varieties are present in three different plantations:
- about 1 hectare, the youngest part of the vineyard, has little more than 10 years, totally implanted in Nerello Mascalese grape and bred with a single Guyot system.
- just over 3 hectares, with an age of about 40 years old, grown on saplings on the row system, planted with red grapes of Nerello Mascalese and Cappuccio and white grapes of Cataratto, Carricante, and Minnella white, mixed as traditionally.
- just under 1 hectare, located on small terraces made with dry stone walls in lava stone, the oldest part of the vineyard, with plants of about 80 years, bred with the traditional sapling method.
From this vineyard, care of vines and grapes, low yields for each plant and careful selection of grapes, mixed practices of cellar between innovation and tradition, but above all work and passion, are produced about 20 / 25,000 bottles of excellent wines that can boast the prestigious initials Etna DOC.
