PDC CARTIZZE

Winery in Valdobbiadene, Prosecco, Cartizze

About the Winery

PDC, named after its founder Pietro De Conti, embodies the journey of a self-made winemaker who blends engineering precision with a deep respect for tradition and the environment. Born in Cartizze and raised in Australia, Pietro returned to Italy, driven by a passion for his heritage. In 2012, he founded PDC with the vision of producing limited, high-quality wines that reflect the excellence of Cartizze. Emphasizing sustainability, PDC adopts organic cultivation methods, ensuring their wines are free from chemical residues.

Today, the winery thrives with a dedicated team of experts, committed to upholding Pietro's vision of excellence and environmental stewardship. Rejecting mass production, PDC focuses on crafting niche wines that stand as true ambassadors of Italian quality.

About the Wines

PDC is the only winery specializing in the production of Valdobbiadene DOCG Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze and is located in Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the prestigious Cartizze territory.

The only grape variety PDC uses is Glera. The annual production is very limited: 15 thousand bottles. The winery produces 4 versions of sparkling wine: Cartizze Brut (5g/l), Cartizze Dry (20g/l), Cartizze Extra Brut BIO (2g/l), Cartizze Extra Dry BIO (13g/l). The first fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, whereas the second fermentation takes place in an autoclave (Martinotti/Charmat method) and lasts from 2 up to 5 months.

Today PDC is the only organic certified winery in Cartizze: the cultivation of the vineyards and the winemaking process only follow sustainable and balanced practices. In the vineyard, organic regulations only allow the use of natural products. In the cellar, organic vinification involves only the use of authorized oenological products and processes. Authorities ensure compliance with the organic legislation through certifications and rigorous inspections throughout the whole year. Controls take place every year both in the vineyard and in the final product. Organic farming is a sustainable solution for the environment, which allows the grower to operate in a healthy place, to restore natural ecosystems, ensuring a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna.

Extra Brut BIO and Extra Dry BIO are produced exclusively with selected grapes coming from our centenarian vines, which are harvested separately and then undergo a softer pressing, to ensure a more balanced and finer structure of the wine.

PDC
Beautiful location, both inside but especially for the outside view, which by the way can also be admired from indoors thanks to the large windows.
Young and very knowledgeable staff, it was a great experience, definitely to be repeated.

a surpassing second visit
Our second visit - brought a friend - even better than our first visit if that's possible. We will be back again for more! Have become great fans of the PDC Extra Brut!

Young and good.
Nice little winery, minimal decor, you can feel the passion and youth.
They proved to be organized.
Good explanation, beyond personal taste regarding the products tasted.
A slight awkwardness when they didn't realize that we, unlike the group, had not booked the vineyard tour; I immediately let them know out of personal correctness and to clear up the awkwardness.
The area speaks for itself.
Their youth will lead them to experience situations like the one yesterday.
Well done anyway.

wonderful experience!
Laura was a warm and informative guide through the Valdobbiadene process of winemaking. The tasting room at PDC Cartizze is well organized, modern and comfortably high tech. We enjoyed a truly deep dive into the terroir and the company's own unique approach to the two-step fermentation process. We walked away with several bottles. PdC Cartizze is a very special place, and we look forward to returning with friends

Pleasant
Our experience was positive. The welcome was excellent, we felt at ease. The explanation was good and the person who accompanied us was very helpful. Good wines.
No pressure to buy the wines. Well done.
The view is beautiful.
Thank you
Continue on this path, with passion and love. Maybe add a cured meat to accompany the wine.
