Our story is deeply rooted in the winemaking tradition of Valdobbiadene, as evidenced by the ancient toponym “Case Bisoi” (the houses of Bisol), marked in historical maps at the heart of the Cartizze area. In the late 19th century, Eliseo Bisol owned a small winery in Santo Stefano, and his son Luigi, one of the first enologists in Valdobbiadene, built a winery in Montebelluna around 1920. In 1950, Giustino Bisol founded the new company with his cousin, whose surname was chosen as the brand for their business. From the very beginning, Ruggeri was one of the few wineries in Valdobbiadene dedicated to producing sparkling wine. Today, Giustino's legacy continues through the work of his son Paolo and granddaughter Isabella. Like our vines, we are driven by a desire to grow and innovate, constantly exploring new possibilities within our territory. Our strong connection to tradition, combined with the expertise passed down through generations, grants us the freedom to experiment and take new paths. Ruggeri was the first winery to produce a sparkling wine exclusively from the grapes of century-old vines (Vecchie Viti) and the first in our denomination to craft an Extra Brut spumante, anticipating regulatory guidelines. With Cinqueanni, we pioneered a unique approach in the entire Prosecco Superiore territory, allowing the wine to rest for 48 months in the protective embrace of the autoclave, nurturing the intimate contact between the wine and the yeasts. Our exploration continues, embodying the spirit of innovation that is at the core of our identity.

Over time, the Bortolomiol family expanded their vineyards, producing wines renowned for their quality. Col Vetoraz Spumanti Srl

Founded in 1993 by Francesco Miotto, Paolo De Bortoli and Loris Dall’Acqua, Col Vetoraz is in Conegliano - Valdobbiadene, the most traditional winemaking territory of DOCG Prosecco Superi-ore. Wines have been produced here for hundreds of years, and Prosecco was first mentioned in docu-ments in 1772. The area extends through the hills of the Province of Treviso between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, with the Dolomites to the north and the Adriatic Sea to the east, creating excellent microclimates for vine cultivation. In fact, Conegliano-Valdobbiadene was submitted as a UNESCO World Heritage candidate in 2010 because of the strong bond between its ancient vine-growing culture and the land, as well as for its beauty: its terraced vineyards against an alpine backdrop form one of Italy’s most stunning territories. All work and harvest is by hand be-cause of the steeply sloping hills, earning the name “heroic viticulture” due to the demanding nature of the labor.

The history of Prosecco Valdo began in 1926, when a group of enterprising winemakers from Valdobbiadene decided to join forces creating the Società Anonima Vini Superiori: a company principally devoted to sparkling wine production of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore and Cartizze. The great step forward in terms of quality started at the beginning of the twenties when the company was bought by the Bolla family from Verona and was renamed: Valdo Spumanti. Sergio Bolla the father of Pierluigi, the current Chairman, focused on expanding sales both in Italy and abroad, he set new commercial and production targets with the aim of increasing awareness of Prosecco Valdo, or to be precise the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, throughout the world.
