San Gregorio Azienda Agraria - Agriturismo e Cantina

Winery in Valdichiana

About the Winery

San Gregorio Farm, located in the charming ancient village of Chiusi, is a 120-hectare estate with deep roots in the tradition of Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. winemaking since 1956. Nestled in the stunning Valdichiana countryside, this enchanting farm combines history, nature, and modern comforts. Alongside our vineyards, we raise Cinta Senese pigs in a wild breeding environment and care for a variety of animals, including sheep, goats, and even a gentle donkey. Deer roam freely in the surrounding fields, adding to the sense of a natural paradise. For guests seeking a peaceful retreat, San Gregorio offers four fully furnished apartments amidst olive groves and Sangiovese vineyards, as well as a unique bio-swimming pool that respects the environment by using no chlorine. A nearby lake, complete with a small island accessed via a wooden bridge, provides a tranquil spot for fishing and relaxation. At San Gregorio, nature and tradition harmonize to offer an authentic Tuscan experience.

About the Wines

At San Gregorio, the heart of our winemaking is the Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G., produced from the rich, rugged soil of the Siena hills. This region, known for its esteemed wines, is home to vineyards that produce robust and characterful grapes, mirroring the strength of the land itself. Our wine cellar, where the magic of winemaking unfolds, is where grape must ferments into the prized San Gregorio Chianti. Additionally, not far from the winery, an enchanting cave houses special small casks for aging Vin Santo, a traditional Tuscan dessert wine. Our intimate vinsantaia also features a cozy wine tasting room, where visitors can savor the unique flavors of our wines while experiencing the history and passion that go into each bottle.

Magnificent experience!
It's the first time I've used Winedering to purchase a tasting.
I thought I would have a quick and formal experience, something "hit and run" and instead...
Kaila (I hope I spelled it right) welcomed me as only "someone who cares about their work" knows how. She accompanied me around the estate, telling me the family history and making me understand what the work behind each product meant to them.
The wine tasting was fantastic, it all took place under a portico with a view of Val d'Orcia (but in case of bad weather they also have a dedicated area!).
I think I can only recommend both Tenuta San Gregorio and Winedering for the experience!
