About Winery and Wines
Tenuta Amadio, located in the heart of the Asolo hills in Monfumo, is a family-run estate with a deep-rooted connection to the land. The estate is divided into three distinct vineyards — Vigneto del Biss, Vigneto del Longon, and Vigneto Era Grande. Each vineyard brings its own unique characteristics, allowing Tenuta Amadio to cultivate grapes with diverse flavors and aromas that harmonize beautifully in their wines. The estate is committed to sustainable agriculture, preserving the land for future generations by nurturing its fertility and vitality.
Founded in 1850 by Amadio Rech, the estate has a long history intertwined with the Rech family's love for these hills. Originally planted with both grapes and renowned local apple varieties, the estate provided for the family for many years before being abandoned. Today, Simone and Silvia, the new generation of the Rech family, have revitalized the vineyards with a deep passion for winemaking, restoring Tenuta Amadio's legacy.
Their mission is clear: to care for the land and the vines from the soil to the bottle, ensuring every step in the production process is carried out with precision and dedication. This blend of tradition and modernity creates wines that are true expressions of the unique terroir of the Asolo hills.
Tenuta Amadio spans a total of 20 hectares, with 12 hectares dedicated to vineyards. The estate takes pride in the quality of its grapes, maintaining excellence throughout the winemaking process by using almost exclusively estate-grown fruit. Harvesting is done by hand, following traditional methods, with the grapes placed in small crates and transported to the winery in a small steel truck to ensure they remain fresh for immediate processing.
The winery itself is seamlessly integrated into the landscape of the Asolo hills, built into the rock and surrounded by vineyards. The architecture blends harmoniously with the environment, using natural materials like wood and stone, and features a hanging garden that adds to its natural beauty. Inside, modern technology is employed to transform the grapes into wine at carefully controlled temperatures, to preserve and enhance the natural flavors and aromas of the region.
Among Tenuta Amadio's wines, the flagship product is the Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG. This wine is the result of a carefully monitored production process that combines cutting-edge technology with manual grape handling. The winery offers various styles of Prosecco, each with its unique characteristics:
- Dry Millesimato Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG: A pale yellow sparkling wine with persistent perlage, offering a fresh, harmonious taste and fine aromas of pear, citrus, and tropical fruit. Ideal for raw fish dishes and toasts.
- Extra Dry Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG: A brilliant straw-colored sparkling wine with fruity notes of apple and pear, balanced by a fresh and lively flavor.
- Brut Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG: A light straw-yellow sparkling wine with persistent perlage, featuring a fresh acidity and flavors of pear, citrus, and tropical fruit.
- Extra Brut 'Era Grande' Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG: A light straw-yellow wine with greenish reflections, delivering a fresh and creamy taste with hints of yellow apple, pear, and a touch of minerality. It pairs excellently with fish dishes.
- Rosé Spumante Extra Dry: A cherry-red sparkling wine with notes of cherry, raspberry, currant, rose, and violet, offering a fresh and balanced palate with good acidity.
- Monfumino Prosecco DOC Treviso Brut: A young and fresh sparkling wine made from a selection of grapes from the Monfumo vines, perfect as an aperitif or paired with light dishes.
The Asolo hills, known for their gently rolling slopes covered in vineyards and olive groves, have long been a source of inspiration for poets, writers, and artists. The area's winemaking tradition dates back to the Benedictine monks of the 11th century, and today, the prestigious DOCG designation for Asolo Prosecco recognizes the region’s excellence. Tenuta Amadio is a proud steward of this legacy, blending tradition and modernity to create wines that capture the essence of this remarkable terroir.
