Tenuta Maddalena

A strong passion for the territory and wine drove a group of friends to make a big dream come true: becoming winemakers. A young spirit drawing its desire to express love for an ancient and fascinating craft from the experience inherited from past generations, in full respect of the natural cycle of the vine, still maintaining the principles that underlie the folk wisdom.

Wine is something unique, combining the patient work in the vineyard with the wise and careful processing in the winery. It connects the past with the future. Tenuta Maddalena's philosophy is to pass on and enhance manual techniques from the past and combine them with modern knowledge in order to create a high-quality natural product, enhancing the organoleptic properties of the grape and its territory.

Tenuta Maddalena's vineyards are located in the gentle Morenic hills area with good sun exposure. For red wines, Merlot and Cabernet, the training system is the spurred cordon with a yield of 70 quintals per hectare, while for white wines, the single arch is used. The quality control starts from the vineyard with a reduction in the number of clusters, thus preserving the sparsity. A rigorous manual harvest allows a first selection of the ripest grapes directly from the plant, enabling the other collection steps. Placing the grapes into small containers, it is possible to preserve the berries intact for a long time, keeping their characteristics unchanged until the press.
