Cru Weekend: 2 nights in Val Rendena at Maso Loera

Your two-night stay begins at Maso Loera in Pelugo, set 650 meters above sea level in Val Rendena, between the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello-Presanella massif. After checking into your room overlooking the vineyards, you'll meet Roberta and Paolo. They welcome you and share the story of their small mountain winery, built around organic farming and PIWI grape varieties.

The first experience starts with a walk through the vineyards, where you'll be introduced to PIWI vines, varieties chosen for their natural resistance to fungal diseases, allowing for an organic approach suited to the Alpine environment. You'll then continue into the winery and the indoor tasting room to taste 3 Maso Loera wines from their PIWI range, which includes labels like Lena, a fresh white from Solaris grapes, Ganzega, Rasa, and Lady R.

The following day is free for you to explore Val Rendena, from the Nardis waterfalls in Val Genova to the town of Pinzolo and the trails of the Dolomites. Each morning at the maso begins with a breakfast of homemade and local products.

During your stay, you will also have the opportunity to visit Palazzo Lodron in Nogaredo, Vallagarina, for a second wine experience. The owners will greet you in the vineyard beside the ancient tower with a glass of Flaminia, an intense rosé from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. The visit continues through the fermentation cellar and into the historic Palazzo, descending into the deep cellar where the estate’s structured wines mature. Here, your tasting concludes with 2 red wines, paired with a selection of traditional local cheeses. The reds are chosen from the estate's Bordeaux-variety production, which features labels like Divertimento N°10, Rizzoi, and Gran Tasso.
