Our time with Rodolfo, Francesco, Albino, Vincenzo, and Nuncia was one of the most cherished parts of our time in Calabria. Our family of 8 was welcomed as friends — they even made special amends for our Nona who was carried up the hill on her walker by all 4 men! The educational tour of the vineyard, the thoughtfully prepared meal by Nuncia (even an entirely gluten free plate for me), the unpretentious wine-tasting. It was the best slice of Calabria we could have hoped for. And I didn’t even mention the view yet: glorious and quiet along the Costa Viola! It is clear that Rodolfo loves and respects the land and heritage he cultivates at Ceramida. It’s not just about the wine but about the whole healthy ecosystem, as well as preserving the ancient stone walls that support the entire hillside. An evening with Rodolfo and his friends will set you at ease and give you the best insight into the unhurried and hospitable culture of Calabria. I’m so grateful we experienced it. Thank you, all!
