With family
Compliments on the kindness and professionalism. First of all, very important for us, our 4-legged family members were very well welcomed. The winery is beautiful and the tour well presented. Then the lunch was very good and well served by very kind young people.

Degustazione finta!

Everything was tip-top.
The lady took a lot of time and was very professional.
Of course, we also bought a few bottles right away because they were so good.

Excellent experience, highly recommended
If you want to visit a large winery, rich in barriques, with a detailed explanation, and a terrace overlooking Monferrato, and finally a delicious lunch with a tasting of three special wines, this is the right place where a combination of sensations and flavors come together.

Just okay
Our guide was friendly enough, but her enthusiasm was not really there. When we met at the beginning she said the temperature was too chilly so we’d skip the outdoor vineyard tour for the time being and do the inside tour first. She didn’t ever take us outside for the vineyard tour! Also, we were supposed to see the honey bees/hives and she didn’t do that either even though we told her we are beekeepers and expressed an interest. The food was good and her knowledge of the wines seemed good too - she just didn’t seem to be that into being there. She never talked about the olive oils or honey and didn’t really promote the sale of any of the products. Truthfully, we probably would have bought olive oil and some wine had she even mentioned it.

Wonderful experience
Very beautiful and well-kept winery, with a breathtaking view from the roof and the restaurant.
Paola is super nice! She gave us a pleasant tour of the winery and then accompanied us during the lunch with tasting.
PHENOMENAL lunch, everything was truly excellent!

Unforgettable
For the longest time travelling to Sant'Andrea in Percussina to explore and see the villa and tavern that Machiavelli spent his time in exile has been a dream of mine. This tour and wine tasting was purchased as a birthday present for me and it lived up to every single expectation.
Our day started with a nightmare, there was a general strike which meant the public transport we had planned to get was cancelled. We got the cab but we were running late for our tasting and private tour. We got in contact with Il Borgo Machiavelli who were nothing but understanding, helpful and reassuring.
Once we arrived, we were immediately escorted to our table in the gorgeous tavern. The staff listened attentively to our dietary and allergen concerns and repeatedly double checked they had everything right which was much appreciated.
We had never done a wine tasting before so were not sure what to expect but Julia, our guide, was absolutely incredible in her descriptions of the wine and what to look out for when tasting. We learnt an incredible amount and genuinely got to taste the best wine we had ever had.
The meal was unbelievable. We were met with an incredible platter of food which catered to the vegetarian and milk allergy needs of my partner. The food was of the highest quality and of our entire week in Tuscany, this meal was by the far the best of ant establishments we had been too.
For me, the highlight was the tour. I have read much of the work by Machiavelli including his letters he wrote when at this very location so I was incredibly excited to see the premises. Our guide Julia gave an incredibly in depth tour with details and facts that made the experience all the better. The tour is so in depth and you learn so much about what Machiavelli’s life here must have been like. Whether you know a lot about Machiavelli already or nothing at all, I think there is something for all to appreciate about walking in the footsteps which inspired on of the first ever political scientists.
Once our tour was finished, the staff continued their hospitality by offering to help book us a cab back to the city given the transport strike.
We are so incredibly grateful for this experience and implore anyone reading this to book this experience for themselves because it really is worth it. Thank you to all the staff for the best birthday present ever.
