Chateau de la Galiniere
(Winery in Bouches-du-Rhône)

Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €15.00
Nestled at the foot of the Cengle plateau, just a stone's throw from Aix-en-Provence, Château de la Galinière lies in a breathtaking setting beneath the majestic Montagne Sainte-Victoire. Spanning 120 hectares, the estate is dedicated entirely to organic viticulture. Its 40 hectares of vineyards, certified 100% organic, thrive on clay-sandy soils rich in bauxite, giving the land its distinctive red hue. The vines, situated at 230 to 257 meters altitude, are sheltered from northern winds by the Corniche du Cengle, while the sun-drenched southern exposure ensures optimal grape ripening. Carefully selected grape varieties — Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet, Rolle, and Viognier — flourish under the Mediterranean climate, reflecting the estate’s deep commitment to terroir expression and varietal purity. To preserve the integrity of each parcel, the vineyard is fully trellised to withstand the mistral and maximize sunlight exposure. The grapes, harvested at night in cool temperatures, undergo parcel-by-parcel vinification in stainless steel tanks, enhancing the aromatic richness of the wines. A meticulous cold stabilization process before fermentation further refines their character.

For over two thousand years the Beaulieu vineyard has flourished within the crater of the only volcano in Provence. The estate, created a fiefdom by King Henry III of France in 1576, belonged to several great Provence families and this family tradition continues to this day. The eight-hectare walled vineyard that yields Villa Beaulieu grapes is a unique terroir facing the north-east at an altitude of 400 metres and comprising soil of clay and limestone on lava basalt. The geographical location and the pedological aspects of the Villa Beaulieu vineyard allow us to produce exceptional wines.
