In 1974, João António Cerdeira and his parents decided to break from the traditional method of planting grapevines around the outskirts of a parcel and instead planted an entire vineyard dedicated to Alvarinho. Today, the third generation of the family — siblings Maria João and António Luís — continues to embrace this spirit of innovation. Maria João, a veterinarian, has successfully introduced organic farming practices, while António Luís, an oenologist, has further developed the family's deep understanding of the Alvarinho grape. The family’s commitment to sustainability also includes the revitalization of the surrounding rural area, with investments in wine tourism and the recent addition of herbal tea production to their offerings.
