VINYES DELS ASPRES
(Winery in Girona)
Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €20.00
Vinyes dels Aspres winery is situated in the rugged and dry region of Cantallops, the northernmost inland town of Alt Empordà, near the Albera massif. The vineyards, owned by the family for generations, thrive on granite and slate soils, conditions that significantly contribute to the quality of the grapes. The region's terrain and the north wind influence the performance of the vines notably.
The winery is housed in Can Batlle, a manor house dating back to the 17th century, where wine, oil, and cork production were once integral activities. In the mid-20th century, these practices ceased, with only vine cultivation continuing. However, in the late 1990s, the heirs restored the cellar and resumed winemaking, blending tradition with modern techniques to meet current standards.
Vinyes dels Aspres is committed to environmental preservation, avoiding the use of aggressive synthetic products in both vineyard management and wine conservation. All the grapes used in production come exclusively from the estate, allowing for complete control from vine to glass.
The winery focuses on traditional grape varieties that best reflect the unique character of the region, using time-honored methods, carefully selected wood for aging, and attention to detail at every stage, from pressing to bottling. Producing just 100,000 bottles per vintage, the wines are carefully crafted, capturing the essence of the land and the landscape in each bottle, blending authenticity with modern sensibility.

Cistella is a small village in the Alt Empordà, with no more than 290 inhabitants, interesting architecture and cozy spaces; it also has two excellent restaurants. It has an exceptional and privileged surrounding, in the very point where the Empordà plain begins to go up to the Pirineus mountains, by the volcanic zone, in a special area called la Garrotxa d’Empordà.
The Empordà area is a strategic place where romans and greeks introduced their wine and culture into the Península Ibèrica, it has 2500 years of wine history and can be considered as one of the areas with a greatest potential for wine tourism in Europe, a diamond in the rough.

Mas Gil SL
(Winery in Girona)
The story of the Clos d’Agon winery begins in 1987, when a French couple decides to buy the old country house Mas Gil, where 12 hectares of vineyard planted with hybrid varieties, narrow planting frames and glass conduction already exist. The owners get advice from professionals like Pierre Galet and André Crespy, professors at the University of Montpellier, and decide to pull up the old vineyard and plant prestigious French varieties for the production of quality wines.
After this stage, six Swiss wine lovers and friends, including Franz J. Wermuth (Les Grands Vins Wermuth), Frank Ebinger (Casa del Vino Ebinger) and Silvio Denz (Château Faugères, Château Rocheyron, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Montepeloso) acquire this renowned viticultural environment in 1998 and hire, as wine consultant, the oenologist Peter Sisseck, who produces in Ribera del Duero great wines such as Pingus, Hacienda Monasterio, etc.
At this stage a new project towards an increased production of quality wines is undertaken, with the construction of a new winery designed by architect Jesús Manzanares and an increased plantation area by retrieving old terraces in the higher parts of the property.
Currently, the technical director Miguel Coronado, advised by oenologist Peter Sisseck, continues working to make the most of the particular terroir of Clos d’ Agon, and to thereby further develop great wines that are characterized by a marked style and quality.
Mas Oller
(Winery in Girona)
Mas Oller is located in an area that combines sea and mountain, very marked by the presence of wind, and the north where a diversity of soils are combined: clay, sand and slate. Conceptually and geographically, the project of Mas Oller connects northern Catalonia, Empordà and Roussillon with the wines being as expressive as they are fresh. Currently, Mas Oller has 17 hectares of vineyard in production. The three red varieties are Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon and two white varieties are Picapoll and Malvasia de Sitges. The vineyards are located around the house and the grapes are selected in the vineyard before being harvested and transported to the winery in small boxes, where it undergoes a second manual selection. All of the wines have a cold pre-fermentation period to obtain maximum expression of aroma and color. Our philosophy is based on the recovery of the winemaking tradition of Empordà with a modern interpretation of the concept of wine.
UNDER THE NORTHERN WIND
The influence of the Tramuntana on the wines of Empordà is fundamental. This north wind creates an ideal microclimate, with its freshness and dryness that cleanses the air and regulates temperatures. This results in healthy vineyards and ripe grapes with complex flavors and aromas. The Tramuntana also contributes to a daily thermal amplitude, favoring balanced ripening. This essential wind adds a unique dimension to the terroir of Empordà, allowing the production of distinctive wines that reflect the landscape and climate of the region.
Dels Aspres
(Winery in Girona)
Our winery Vinyes dels Aspres is located in the municipality of Cantallops, the most northern inland town of Alt Empordà, sheltered by the Albera mountain range, a territory of gently rounded foothills of the Mediterranean Pyrenees.
Notable periods in the history of Can Batlle are that of the thriving years at the beginning of the twentieth century, during the time of 'teacher grandmother' Narcisa Vicens, and when one of Narcisa's daughters married Eduard Toldrà, a celebrated musician and composer tho, summer after summer, filled Can Batlle with music and culture.
Towards the end of the 1990s, we decided to continue this work, renovating and restoring the winery in keeping with today's requirements for wine making.
We now use a pneumatic press to produce white wines in accordance with the hightest quality requirements, and twelve stainless-steel vats for the maceration and fermentation of grapes at controlled temperatures to produce red wines. The aging of the wine in barrels, all of which are made of French Allier oak, takes place in the ancient cellar, as does its final ageing in the bottle.
Nowadays the cellar is air conditioned to maintain a constatnt temperature and humidity which favour the optimum development of the must. The wood, our production techniques and, undoubtedly, the history impregnated in the cellar's walls help us to define the characteristics of each and every one of our wines.
Celler Espelt
(Winery in Girona)
Espelt is our family name. All our ancestors have always cultivated grapes and olive trees, the most grateful fruits in our land. Lluís and Quimeta were already renowned growers when they decided to build their cellar in the year 2000. Their son, Damià, agricultural engineer, reinforced it and took many of the decisions that shape Espelt nowadays. Anna, Damià´s daughter, biologist and winemaker, had a clear calling for viticulture and winemaking. Today, she´s in charge of Espelt, focusing on the native varieties and heritage of vinegrowing in Empordá. Three generations. When you come and visit us, you are likely to run into our grandma Quimeta at the winery shop or bump into Anna, on her way to or from the vineyard, or back from touring around the world, spreading the word about the work of this family.
Imagine an amphitheatre overlooking the Mediterranean and sheltered by the Pyrenees. That is Empordá. A landscape that transforms itself with the seasons: In Winter, the magic and silent surprise of snow rarely arrives. In spring, green colours are soft and tender. In summer, everything is covered with a sweet light, touched by a shade of peach. In September, the vines in Empordá show a golden grey, superb and elegant. And each harvest features this perfect cycle of Earth…
Of all the winds that shake the bunches of grapes in our land, the most powerful one is Tramontana. It is a harsh, bold and obstinate inland wind. It can blow continuously for a whole week, oppressing us when it comes and releasing us when it leaves. It is considered to be responsible of the awkward force of our landscape and the surge, the RAUXA, of its people. Our wines, just like ourselves, are touched by the Tramontana. Vines love it when it dries moist after the rain. Hate it when it breaks their bunches, leaves and shoots.
Empordàlia
(Winery in Girona)
Empordàlia is the union of small producers from the Empordà who have been working the Empordà land for generations.
We are a big family, we work the vineyards and olive groves as our grandparents and great-grandparents taught us to do, with respect for the land, true to our values, and carrying forward our tradition, for the benefit of future generations.
Empordàlia is the fruition of many years of hard toil, teamwork and a desire to perpetuate a tradition.
We are made up of three cooperatives in the Empordà region – those of Pau, Rosas and Vilajuïga.
Our story began in 1947 with the founding of the cooperative in Vilajuïga. The cooperative of Pau was created later, in 1961, and merged with that of Rosas in the 80’s. The three cooperatives were created with the same purpose in mind: to work together and produce a quality product that reflects the character of our region. United by this shared purpose, we decided to create, in 2005, what is now known as Empordàlia, a name that represents us all.
Coll de Roses i el Wine Family Museum
(Winery in Girona)
Coll de Roses is a wine estate located in an idyllic setting: on the Costa Brava, surrounded by three natural parks and at the centre of today’s culinary landscape.
In 2010, in order to complement what the brand already had to offer, the Wine Family Museum project was started, allowing visitors to embark on a sensory journey aimed at helping them discover the world of wine through a truly unique experience.
For a year now, Coll de Roses has formed part of the Wine Route, an initiative launched by the Costa Brava – Girona Pyrenees Tourism Board in order to promote wine tourism in this area and add value to the Costa Brava destination. Due to their location and all they have to offer, Coll de Roses and the Wine Family Museum are the ideal place to start to enjoy the Wine Route.
