5 A most excellent wine/ port tasting experience ! (Jenny)The vineyard looked most beautiful with not only endless vine spear over the valley. The local fruit trees looked wonderful as this is a family run vineyard over many years. The place we enjoyed our 6 wine/ port tasting was wide and open with great view! The wines and ports we tasted were excellent and the portion generous as well as the plentiful nibbles accompanied with every and each wine or port. They can’t youwere both thoughtful , tasty and generous in portion. We had a most excellent time and would visit when we return in the area next !!

5 Authentic winery and giod wine (Pietro)The atmosphere is very warm and intimate; the guided tour was wonderful, and we learned about the history of this place. We really liked that it’s a small winery. The tasting was excellent, accompanied by a generous platter of appetizers. Kudos to the guide, he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and down-to-earth. It is a true authentic spot, off the beaten tourist path!

5 Fantastic relaxed winery hospitality (Denis)Big thanks to the folks at Quinta da Portela who were both friendly and knowledgeable. We were walked through the onsite museum and learned about the multi-generation history of this winery; interesting to see artifacts of the wine business and how equipment has changed across the decades. The great pleasure of our visit was a wonderfully relaxed and leisurely seated tour of their sparkling, still and fortified wines as well as their olive oil. These were deftly accompanied by delicious local food products both savoury and sweet on their hilltop outdoor patio. Highly recommended!

5 Wine tasting (Marta)We were at a wine tasting experience in August, and it was amazing. The lady who guided us was very friendly, funny, and her knowledge about the winery and Port wine was outstanding. The winery itself is beautiful. We had the opportunity to try six different types of wine (with snacks). I strongly recommend this place and the tour. We even bought a bottle to remember this experience.

5 Recommended visit (Irene)It was generally a bit more expensive than than the other near by choices we had but it was worthy. There is a nice river view and the scacks given were great. It was just us so we have the full attention, the host was very friendly, he sat and chatted with us and was ready to reply any questions. We really enjoy the wine in this peaceful small winery.

The hostess, Cristina, was very knowledgeable and was very kind and patient, speaking slowly so that I could understand Portuguese. The place, spectacular, and the tasting, super complete, with six wines perfectly paired with a different appetizer for each one. Without a doubt, the best tasting we have participated in.

4 Great experience (Gerd)A very nice experience, Antonio made a great effort to explain the philosophy of the winery. It was very exciting and entertaining. The wines offered for the tasting were exceptional and of excellent quality. The winery was not very easy to find and the drive was a bit difficult (winding), but it was definitely worth it.

5 A superb visit to Quinta da Furada (Alison)Upon our arrival, Duarte offered us the choice of a tour of the estate on foot or by jeep. He is passionate about his estate and provides very interesting explanations. We chose to visit the estate on foot; it is large and offers magnificent landscapes. Seeing that we spoke French, he offered several times to give us the tour in French rather than English, even though the French tour was not originally offered. Once the tour of the estate was over, we were able to taste his own production of wines as well as ports, olive oil, olives and even honey. We were lucky enough to taste many more wines and ports than what was noted in the booking description. All the products were delicious. Moreover, for novices like us, good explanations were provided during the tasting, to better understand the specificities of the different wines and ports. The visit was a real moment of pleasure and we found someone very open to discussion, very friendly and passionate. We highly recommend a visit to this magnificent Quinta.
