The Maçanita winery is located on the right bank of the Douro River, in the heart of the Douro region, 20 mins from Pinhão in the sub-region of Cima Corgo. A boutique winery that produces around 80,000 bottles of red, white and rosé wines per year. More recently, it has embarked on the world of Port wine production, with the first wines expected soon. At the Maçanita Winery, the winemaking process is non-intrusive, and the aim is to bring the Douro terroir to the bottle. With a very diverse set of wines, the Maçanita winery produces monovarietal wines, such as the 100% Touriga Nacional Cima Corgo and the 100% Touriga Nacional Letra A, two wines, the same grape variety at different altitudes, and multi-variety wines from old vineyards at high-altitude on granite, to the oxidative Malvasia fina from the Baixo Corgo and the extreme 100% Arinto with its pulsating acidity. Each one of these wines is the result of a restless exploration by the Maçanita siblings who, vineyard by vineyard, seek to transmit a distinct personality from each corner of the Douro Valley.

Located on the left bank of the River Douro as you arrive at Ervedosa, Quinta de Ventozelo is one of the region’s most beautiful and impressive estates. This vast amphitheatre overlooking the river is “the gateway to the silence of the Douro Valley”, where time seems to flow more slowly. The calmness and close connection to nature are its main intangible value. Quinta de Ventozelo was once farmed by Cistercian monks who inhabited the region in the Middle Age. The monks transformed local agriculture and began production of port wine. The first historical mention of Ventozelo dates from 1288, but around 1500, by assignment of the Cistercian Monastery of S. Pedro das Águias, the Estate came into the hands of the hidalgos of Casa do Poço from Lamego.

Quinta da Furada is an ancient family estate in the heart of the Douro Valley, recently restored to preserve its rich history and tradition. Visitors are invited to explore the charm of this estate, where generations of winemaking have taken place. The estate offers immersive experiences, including guided walks or jeep tours through the old vineyards and ancient olive groves, led by the owner. Quinta da Furada is renowned for its Douro Pata D'Urso wines and Furada Ports, as well as its exceptional olive oil, honey, almonds, and olives, all produced exclusively on the estate.
