5 Outstanding (Edgar)The winery is located in a beautiful area and hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming. Our tour guide, “Bene” (Benedetta) was excellent, answering questions and providing information about the history and traditions of the winery. She took us on a short walk to the family chapel where she gave us even more details about the founder’s history and about the different types of grapes grown in the area and the wines produced in San Giorgio a Lapi. The setting for the wine tasting and lunch is beautiful, under this giant mulberry tree that provides ample shade and lets the Tuscan breeze cool the whole place. Lunch was fabulous with strawberry gazpacho, pasta with cherry tomatoes (mind you, I’m not a pasta person) and pork so tender that you could almost cut it with a fork; this we enjoyed along with the wines produced at the winery, which were very very tasty. The whole experience was one the best ones we’ve had in this trip. Thanks to all the kitchen staff and in particular to Bene, our wonderful tour guide. Grazie e arrivederci !!!

5 Excellent service and fun (Di)We took a taxis to and from Siena and were warmly welcomed. The tour was excellent with Jessie and the tasting and lunch exceeded our expectations. Well worth it - lots of fun and we learnt a lot. Beautiful setting as well.

5 You'd need more glasses to describe this fantastic visit! (Giulia)There are places and people that remain etched in your mind and the visit to La Lastra will surely be one of them. Wine is not a simple product. Yes, of course, it follows a specific production phase, it has its own supply chain, but behind it, it holds something much more. Wine is made of earth, sky, wind, time and above all, wine is made of people. And the visit to the La Lastra winery is an exemplification of how it's not so much what you drink that's important, but WHO you drink. Renato and Nadia opened the doors to their winery, their agriturismo, their home, but also a bit of their lives, and for this I feel I must thank them infinitely, because the one we had is one of those visits that stays in your heart. Fantastic wines, a magnificent place, real people. They would deserve 10 glasses, because 5 are too few.
