5 Worth the drive up the hills! (Patricia)While the drive up to the winery was on twisty and narrow roads, the views were spectacular! Especially from the winery itself. We were hosted by Alexandra, one of the family, and learned so much about their family’s path from Russia to an award winning winery in Italy. She also explained a lot about the grape varieties and their unique processes for creating exquisite wines. We tasted wonderful reds and whites and ended up taking a white and 2 reds away with us. We were also served a generous selection of breads, prosciutto and cheeses, so come hungry!

5 Tasting of Typical Wines at Montresor (Michele)We enjoyed our wine tasting experience at Montresor Winery. First of all, we were greeted warmly by the staff. Then we learned a lot about the winery and Valpolicella during the tour which was given by a very knowledgeable guide. Finally, the wines we tried were all good, paired well with the various cheeses and cured meats provided. The experience broadened our wine and food pairing knowledge.

5 Wonderful experience! (Maria)We’ve had a wonderful afternoon at Montresor. In Valpolicella. A warm welcome with a cup of good strong Italian coffee, a guided tour tlby an expert-host with interesting stories about history, wine making and marketing. We’ve seen the wine archive and could try to find out the different scents of fruit and herbs in the wine. And, as the cherry on the cake, such a delicious tasting, with the best of their wines and the best regional cheeses and ham. We really felt special, that afternoon. Thank you, people of Montresor!

5 Worth it! (Mariella)It was our first time experiencing a wine tasting and vineyard tour and they did not disappoint. Our guide, Noemi, was very nice and knowledgeable. She led us to the vineyard, and wine cellar, and educated us on the wine-making process. On the actual wine tasting, we were given plenty of time to savor each wine and we were guided through the flavors and their unique characteristics. I was never a big fan of wine but after this, it made me really appreciate the craftsmanship and passion that they pour to make wine! Lastly, they let us take our time admiring the panoramic view of Verona in their very lovely garden with a pool. All in all, it was really a wonderful and an unforgettable experience. Would love to come back here again!

5 Very personal wine tour (Megan)This tour and tasting was everything we hoped it would be. The tour through the winery was very interesting and the tour guide left a lot of room for us to ask questions. Because the winery is very small and local, it felt very personal, like you are just standing in the kitchen of the owner. To finish of the tour, we had a tasting with the most stunning view. The guide explained a lot about the differences among Valpolicella wines, which makes you appreciate the differences in taste even more.

4 Fantastic afternoon (Kathryn)Absolutely brilliant tour. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Would have liked to have spent a. It more time in the vineyard learning about the viticulture but understand that due to rain it was difficult. Amazing tasting and food. Felt totally indulgent and great to try different wines. What a view! I’d love to come back and stay in the hotel. Only gripe is how difficult it is to get a taxi back to town. The staff were helpful but due to location it takes a long time. In future I would consider the bus!

5 A Perfect Day in Verona (Nancy)What a great time we had! Our experience started when we arrived early for our tastings. We were warming greeted by the staff and directed out to a hillside garden that had a spectacular view of Verona. Our tasting experience began on time as we our tour guide took us around the vineyard explaining the steps from the cultivation of the grape vines to the final barreling of the wines. Our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all our questions ranging from the natural biological control of crop pests to the fermentation process. We then moved to a shady spot beside the pool for the actual tastings. We started with their sparkling white wine and finished with their signature wine, Amarone. A complete explanation was offered for each glass! Plenty of time was allowed between tastings to compare and study the wines while tasting cheeses and meats from the charcuterie board! After the last glass was poured and described, our host left us to finish our tastings and our conversations as we contemplated these wines’ “terroir”!

5 Panoraama wine tasting in San Mattia winery (Ilpo)Booking the tasting was very easy from the Booking.com site. The response was quick. Arriving to the wine farm was easiest with local taxi or own car, (there is also accomodation possible in the hotel), since there is a lot of climbing uphill. While waiting the tour to start we were offered refreshment that we sure needed. Since the majority of the visitors understand italian the major informaation was italian, but the english speakers were also Well Take into consideration. The best part of the tour on a hot day was the visit to cool winw cellar.. At the end of the visit we were introduced to the variety of the wineyards product with cheese and salami and prosciutto. The view surely was worth seeing, specially in the evening, you could see the city of Verona in night lightning.

5 Very reasonable and great wine (Ciaran)We had booked the wine tasting and tour of the San Mattia vineyard and was not disappointed. The guide was very knowledgeable and the views from the terrace were amazing. The wines and the accompanying antipasti were great too, the guide took her time in describing the wines and the differences between them. The Ripasso and Amarone were standouts for me, I think the tour is very good value for money given the food, wine and views

5 Fantastic Visit at Corte San Mattia (Carol)We had an outstanding experience at Corte San Mattia last week. Our host started with a short tour of the vineyard and production facility. When we arrived back at the restaurant we found a lovely lunch waiting for us, including tasty meat, cheeses and bread. We tasted the wines along with our lunch while enjoying the beautiful view of Verona. This was the highlight of our visit to Verona. Highly recommend!!

5 Incredible experience!! (Margherita)Corte San Mattia is amazing!! The place is truly stunning as well as the view of Verona from up there. It is only 1 5/20mins by car by Verona but at the same time it is peaceful and relaxing. Andrea is very passionate about his work and we really enjoyed the tour as well a the wine and the food that we tasted. Everything was really good and the price was really competitive for what we receive ! All the people we interacted with were super nice. We were 10 friends and all of us would recommend Corte San mattia to everyone (which we did)!!!

5 Wine tasting (Ian)This was an excellent afternoon - guided tour of the vineyard and farm (with goats, hens, geese, donkeys .....) The wine tasting was very well organised with tasty bread, cheese, cold meats, and homemade pickles- and the wines delicious (an excellent introduction to the wines of Verona and Valpolicella). - The view over Verona just made everything a very special occasion. - I can highly recommend the experience.

5 Tasting and Winery Tour (Mattia)A wonderful experience. There are no other words to describe it. The girl who took us on the tour explained everything beautifully and answered all our questions impeccably (she was also excellently prepared in English, as we had two curious Indian guests with us). Although the winery is very young, I found some very particular and interesting characteristics in the various wines. The view is AMAZING! Also beautiful were the pool and the whole garden. We stocked up on a lot of bottles. Definitely a place to return to. Even just for an aperitivo or to stay a few nights, given the possibility to lodge. Alas, I only have a photo of the view because we were too busy tasting the wine and all the cured meats/cheeses they served us.

4 Beautiful, good, a must-do. (Cristian)We did the tour on 25/04. A very nice tour of the cellar and museum, maybe a bit rushed, but truly complete and with a part related to flavors/aromas and soils that was very interesting (in our opinion it deserved a bit more in-depth time). The tasting was truly excellent, complete (the oil was also much appreciated) and with a generous charcuterie board. Obviously, taste is extremely personal, but we really appreciated the wines we tasted.

A beautiful tour: the museum exhibit is really well done, with the plus of the guy who accompanied us with the very engaging story of the winery's history. Definitely Alexander, our guide, was very professional and courteous, he explained to us in a clear and simple way the various types of wine, grape variety, harvest and tasting traditions. The platter of cured meats and cheeses for the pairing was also excellent. Amarone TOP! The winery where the tasting took place is located in a hilly area where you can admire a beautiful landscape. Alexander's suggestion was to come back during the grape drying season. Noted!
