Nice winery with rare wines. Friendly and well spoken tour guide. Wine was an eye opener and taste exceptionally good.

Free top up of snacks and wine, so eat and drink and chat to your hearts content. If stay at hotel nearby, free drop off for the whole experience.
A walk to the vineyard to see the plants close up and taste the natural wine berries would be nice if included in the wine tour.

El sitio es paradisíaco se respira tranquilidad y vida en engranaje con la naturaleza, nos captó desde el minuto 1 gracias a su guía Alesio un encargado de lujo, amigable, y que domina el arte del vino y su cata con maestría. La calidad de los vinos imposible de reseñar solo con palabras sublimes, con personalidad un manjar. Muchas gracias al equipo.

Excellent English Language Tour

James led our tour and did a fantastic job. He was very professional and very knowledgable, able to answer all of our questions. At other wineries, my wife, who is not a native English speaker, had difficulty understanding the Spanish accent. This was no problem with James, as his explanations were crisp and clear.. he also has a fascinating personal story about how he moved to the region.

We tried several wines, and we both enjoyed the blends more than the single varietals. Having said that, my wife loves syrah, and Atavus has a single varietal syrah that she enjoyed. This came as a surprise, as other wineries reported inconsistent results with their syrah, and therefore only used it as a small component of their blends.

The tasting room is very bright and full of light, with good views of the vineyards.

Honestly, the entire experience was stellar. I was on holidays with my mum and has been looking for something special - Atavus exceeded all my expectations. The tour guide was lovely and very patient (esp with my mum who is not speaking English nor Spanish but had even more questions ;), so lots of translations going on! The tasting itself felt effortless and truly relaxing in an ambience that is just breathtaking. You can feel that the entire team truly cares about their customers and making them feel welcome and giving them a truly unique experience in a magical setup.

The Priorat region, with its centuries-old wine-growing tradition, is renowned for its challenging terrain and exceptional terroir. At ATAVUS Priorat, our vineyards are located on steep coastal terraces, where the extreme conditions demand meticulous care. All vineyard work, from pruning to harvesting, is done by hand, ensuring that each vine receives the attention it deserves.

Our vineyard has been managed biodynamically and organically since 2005, a reflection of our dedication to producing wines that are true to their origins. We focus on minimal intervention, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes to shine through without the use of clarifications or stabilizers. This approach enables us to produce wines that express the unique qualities of each plot of land.

We cultivate a variety of grapes under the DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant designations, including Red Grenache, Hairy Grenache, Carinyan, Syrah, White Grenache, Macabeo, Viognier, and Pedro Ximenez. Among our seven wine references, our Syrah Amphora 2019 has received special acclaim, earning an impressive 95 points from Decanter Magazine, a testament to the exceptional craftsmanship and quality of our wines.
