Our winery is situated in a privileged location in Gratallops, offering a stunning view of the vineyard, the beautiful forest that envelops us, and the majestic Priorat mountains, with the Sierra de Montsant being the highlight. Our surroundings are rich in history and natural beauty, making it a truly remarkable place.
Since our establishment in 2018, we have continuously worked to upgrade our wine tourism services, resulting in exceptional experiences for our valued clients. Our visitors can relish in the pleasure of touring our winery and taking part in the unforgettable events we organize.
Our History:
How water (the birth of friendship) ...
One hot summer afternoon in Gratallops in 2014, causality made possible the encounter between tourists visiting Priorat and Paloma, a Madrid resident living in the area. Her welcoming manner, offering water to the thirsty tourists, gives free rein to words, and a lasting friendship will be born over time.
In 2016, they decided to start their project together in Priorat. It became a reality in 2018 with the acquisition of the Mas d'En Ros estate, a winery with a long wine-making tradition in Gratallops.

ATAVUS Priorat is the story of friendship beyond the frontiers. It is a project born from the fortunate encounter between people who share the same concerns about the natural environment and ecology. And the same passion for the world of wine and the Priorat landscape.
Atavus Priorat, is a dream come true of producing quality wines with minimal intervention and in a sustainable way, a project led by the commitment to continue the historical legacy. Thus, contributing to maintaining and developing the Gratallops area's rich biodiversity.
We pursue the authenticity of wines linked to our origin. We want to meet followers along the way who share our commitment to the environment and joy for life! Wine lovers that enjoy our wines with the same enthusiasm to produce them. As a source of life!
OUR VINEYARDS:
The Priorat region as a wine-growing area has centuries of history, vines being cultivated since the 12th century and being the second and only region in Spain with Doca.
The Priorat region has an exceptional setting with vineyards on coastal and terraces and with extreme conditions in which pruning, harvesting and treating the vineyard must all be done by hand.
We have been taking care of our own vineyard for several generations and, since 2005, we have functioned as a biodynamic organic vineyard, most of the production of which was destined for the large Priorat wineries. The rest was used to produce our own wine in pettit committee.
Our history as wine producers began in 2014 with a group of wine enthusiasts who, without knowing each other, and by chance, joined their lives to carry out this project.
At Atavus we prioritize minimal intervention in our wines, without clarifications or stabilizers. Our interest is that the grapes show their maximum potential and we achieve this by maintaining a very good balance both in the vineyard and in the winery.
We produce 7 wine references, respecting the particular soil in each plot.
Our grapes varieties of DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant are: Red Grenache, Hairy Grenache, Carinyan, Syrah, White Grenache, Macabeo, Viognier and Pedro Ximenez.
Among other certifications, we obtained the vegan wine certification in 2019.
We proudly announce that Decanter Magazine has awarded our Syrah Amphora 2019 wine an impressive score of 95 points, placing us among the esteemed winemakers in Priorat. This recognition is a testament to the exceptional quality and craftsmanship of our wine, and we are honored to receive such high praise.
