Az. Agr. Vigna 800 di Gianfranco Elampini

Winery in Valpolicella, Amarone, Valpolicella Classica

About the Winery

I am Gianfranco Elampini, a winemaker in the heart of Valpolicella. In 2001, I founded Vigna '800 with a single ambition: to produce authentic wine using only the grapes from my land, following the traditions passed down by my father, Gino. For me, winemaking is about more than just crafting a product; it’s about honoring the genuine flavors of our territory and the love we hold for our land. A glass of wine tells the story of the land it comes from, its origins, and its evolution. Sitting in the shade of the vines, I can savor the result of a solar year, transforming the gifts of nature into the renowned wines of Valpolicella.

Vigna '800 takes its name from an ancient carved stone, symbolizing a tribute to history and tradition. The name reflects the passage of time—marking both the end of one century and the beginning of another—while holding fast to the traditional winemaking techniques that continue to guide us today. For me, making wine is like raising children; each bottle needs to be nurtured, listened to, and carefully guided to maturity.

About the Wines

Our wines are an authentic expression of Valpolicella's land, meticulously crafted with care and respect for tradition. Each wine from Vigna '800 reflects the soul of our vineyard and the time-honored winemaking practices that define this region. We offer a selection of wines, each with its own unique character:

Amarone Riserva DOCG Classico "Virgo Moron": A full-bodied, rich wine that showcases the depth and complexity of Valpolicella’s finest grapes.

Valpolicella Ripasso DOC Classico Superiore "El Campanar": A superior wine known for its intensity and rich flavors, enhanced by the ripasso method.

Valpolicella DOC Classico "La Cesolina": A traditional Valpolicella, offering a genuine and accessible taste of the region’s heritage.

Rosè Spumante Corvina Veronese IGT "La Polda": A refreshing and elegant sparkling rosé, made from Corvina Veronese, capturing the vibrancy of the local grapes.

Each bottle from Vigna '800 is a testament to the harmony between nature and craftsmanship, delivering the true taste of Valpolicella.

To be repeated
Although I'm not new to tastings, I don't usually leave reviews. But this experience at the Vigna800 winery left me with the desire to share my satisfaction. A welcoming, warm, and familiar atmosphere. Gianfranco and Luca are sincerely passionate about the world of wine and very down-to-earth, engaging, and exhaustive in their explanations. Last but not least, excellent wines and food. I will be back. Thank you. Barbara

I had the pleasure of visiting Vigna 800 and tasting their wines thanks to the passionate presentation by the owner, Gianfranco Elampini. Right from the start, the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, allowing me to completely immerse myself in the history and passion hidden behind every bottle.
The wines are of excellent quality, an authentic expression of the territory and of the producer's careful work. Each tasting was a journey into the flavors and traditions of Valpolicella, enriched by the stories of the one who creates these wines with dedication.
Besides the tasting, I had the chance to purchase the wines and take with me the memory of the emotions experienced on this splendid day. It was a truly special experience, which I recommend to anyone who wants to discover extraordinary wines in a familiar and charming setting.
