About the Winery
Fuocomuorto Farm is located in Herculaneum, on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius within the Vesuvius National Park. Covering 2.5 hectares, the farm is dedicated to viticulture and olive growing. The vineyards, benefiting from the volcanic soil and mild climate, produce the renowned Vesuvio DOC wines, including Lacryma Christi white and red. The farm also features a historic wine cellar built in 1780, where wines are aged naturally. In addition, Fuocomuorto offers a bed and breakfast and a tasting room for guests.
About the Wines
Azienda Agricola Fuocomuorto specializes in the production of Vesuvius DOC wines, including white and red Lacryma Christi, the latter also available in barrique versions. It also produces Caprettone Dop. The grapes are grown exclusively on the winery's terraces, benefiting from the volcanic soil and unique climate of the Vesuvian area. The wines are aged in a natural cave under the volcanic rock, providing optimal conditions for maturation. The farm also produces extra virgin olive oil from its centuries-old olive trees.

Very nice wine tasting!
We had a really great time at this wine tasting. The owner was very friendly and answerd every question we had. The location and food we got were both perfect. We definitly recommend it, just keep in mind that you have to walk 30 minutes from the station to get there.

A few months ago I had the pleasure of spending a splendid day at the Fuocomuorto winery on Vesuvius, an experience that I will always carry with me and that I absolutely recommend. Immersed in a picturesque landscape, the winery welcomes guests with an authentic, familiar, and extremely pleasant atmosphere, where the passion for wine and respect for the territory can be felt from the very first moment.
The visit is organized with great care and attention: we had the opportunity to learn up close about the history of the winery, the production methods, and the commitment that is dedicated daily to the enhancement of the grapes and wines. Afterward, we came to the most awaited moment: the tasting, characterized by wines of excellent quality, an expression of the character and identity of this extraordinary territory, which I have always been in love with.

Truly a sensational discovery, a family-run business that smells of wine but above all of so much history of our land, but also of a family that has created a corner of paradise and welcomes its guests with care and love. All the wines, from the Lacryma Christi to the 100% Caprettone, to the Primitivo, ending with the marvelous naturally fermented sparkling Pompeiano rosé, manage to let you distinctly savor the bouquet that characterizes them and the passion with which they are produced.

Two hours out of the ordinary. A very particular place, the cave carved into the lava of Vesuvius is certainly fascinating. Gennaro is very kind and very knowledgeable, he makes you feel right at home, putting you at ease. Regarding the tasting, TOP wines and excellently accompanied by a rich platter of cured meats, cheeses and other tasty things to eat.

This place has a really cool wine cellar. The historic wine cellar was covered by lava, but is now excavated and used again.

Great value for money. We had a great time being shown around the winery. The platter was a real treat and the wine amazing. Some of the wines are like nothing I've tasted before. The setting for the afternoon was relaxing and good to be out of the hurried life of the city centre.
