La Cantina degli Abissi

Winery in Ligurian Riviera, Riviera di Levante

About the Winery

Bisson Winery was established in 1978 by Pierluigi Lugano, a Master of Arts and esteemed sommelier, who recognized the untapped potential in Ligurian wines. Inspired by his childhood experience of making wine, Pierluigi began purchasing grapes from local farmers along the Eastern Ligurian coast. Through innovative winemaking techniques, he revived native varietals like "Bianchetta Genovese" and "Ciliegiolo" and introduced new creations like "Musaico." Today, Bisson Winery owns its vineyards, ensuring full control over quality and cultivating with minimal pesticide use to guarantee authenticity and excellence.

Excellent
A very simple winery but the tasting part was excellent, with the right amount of food, excellent service and staff, but above all a beautiful location!

Excellent aperitivo
The kindness of the staff is noteworthy. They welcomed us with patience and serenity. The winery tour was shorter than I expected, but interesting nonetheless. I find they give a lot of space to marketing ideas, which are however very well executed (e.g., dinners in the vault or in the very well-kept main hall, availability for weddings, etc.).
Good wines and aperitivo products in generous portions and of high quality. We will definitely come back if we have the chance.

Excellent tasting in the greenery, perfect even for beginners!
We had a really great time at this tasting. Being a newbie in the world of wine, I really appreciated the explanations: I learned many new and interesting things that I didn't know in a simple and clear way. We enjoyed the tasting of three excellent wines, all while immersed in a beautiful green setting. A totally relaxing atmosphere, ideal for unplugging.
Highly recommended for those who are approaching the world of wine for the first time. Take some time to enjoy the relaxing location and the surrounding greenery in addition to the tasting itself.

Good wine
We spent two relaxing hours in a beautiful place, friendly and helpful staff and... excellent wine. I would have liked to taste the wine while touring the cellar too, not just at the end, but thank you anyway!

Instructive immersion in Liguria
Magnificent place and a very interesting discovery with a passionate sommelier guide about underwater winemaking, accompanied by a tasting of 5 wines (3 whites and 2 reds) and a platter of Italian charcuterie and cheese with the sommelier's explanations.
An experience we recommend.

Nice little visit to a vineyard in a village
Our little tour at Bisson was interesting although some of us were hoping to see the actual grapes or at least to go outside during the tour. The tour focused on telling how they produce their special sparkling wine although unfortunately it was not included in the tasting. The tasting menu was good and especially the last wine gave us goosebumps. However, we didn’t get a choice between 3 platters but they just brought us bread and olives which we wouldn’t have chosen because one of us needs gluten free options which are always packed in plastic bags. The service was perfect though and when we asked for some cheese and ham they prepared an extra plate for us (for extra price). The essential thing was that there was no time limit because it did take us some time to finish all the 5x12cl classes. We also brought their famous sparkling wine which was unfortunately too sweet for our taste. This winery ended up being easy to reach by train from Genova although it would have been nice if the address would have been included on Winedering website (there’s only a bad map and the address only shows when clicking it open on google map) or if there would have been instructions on how to get there. We tried contacting the winery about it, we got a reply in Italian. Fortunately at the end when we found the address on google map the application also gave the very needed instructions on how to get there.
The service was super polite with a good sense of humour. Their Granaccia was delicious, I would definitely recommend tasting that one!

I was hoping for better
The explanation of the wines was interesting.
Perhaps the tasting is not very proportional to the price paid.

Interesting wines!
Bisson was very unique, I would give it the highest mark for that. It is a beautiful setting. The antipasti’s were very tasty. My only recommendation for that was more variety of olives and maybe some pesto. I am not a bianco wine drinker, but their whites were very tasty, and happily drank two of them. The reds were eccellente! I wish I would have had those served first bc I was driving and had to just sip a little. The tour added to the ending dining experience. The parte migliore was the explanation about the wine that was aged in the sea! So affascinante!! As far as the service, it was good, just felt we could have been catered to a little more. How is everything etc. overall great experience! January

Cool place
The atmosphere was fantastic in the yard and the cellar, the tour was pleasant but could use a little more depth and general facts about wine as a lot of the people in our group were novice. Food was superb’
