About Winery and Wines
Thanks to its strategic geographic position and the timeless charm of its historic baglio, Cantine Mothia is the ideal destination for wine enthusiasts and tour groups alike. Acquired by the Bonomo family in 1997, the 19th-century baglio underwent an extensive restoration that skillfully preserved its architectural heritage. Every stage of winemaking is carried out with meticulous care, from the rigorous selection of grapes to the precise attention given to each phase of production—values that have earned the winery prestigious awards and recognition in top wine guides.
During the guided visit, one of the owners of Cantine Mothia will personally welcome guests into the enchanting inner courtyard, sharing the story of the Bonomo family, the winery’s origins, and the renovation of the estate. The tour continues through the vinification and aging areas, where visitors will learn about the production process, and into the evocative oak barrel cellar where the legacy of Marsala wine is brought to life. The experience culminates in a curated tasting of four wines—one white, one red, a sweet wine, and a Marsala—served in personalized glasses and paired with typical Sicilian delicacies. All wines are crafted exclusively from native grape varieties such as Grillo, Zibibbo, Nero d’Avola, Frappato, and Perricone, and are not available in large-scale retail.
