C.Faso'
About the Winery
C.Faso' was born at the farmhouse that has always belonged to Kikki's family, a cascina in the hills of Bistagno, in the Monferrato, where Kikki and Raffaella put down roots together, raised their family, and have spent more than twenty years growing grapes and hazelnuts. None of this would have been possible without the help of a few local men who have always been the quiet guardians of this land, people who carry the knowledge of these hills in their hands, passed down through generations.
The idea of making their own wine came during the pandemic. With more time to think and a desire for independence, they decided to take what they had always grown and turn it into something entirely their own. The name of each wine came naturally: their son Pietro was studying music, and the labels became a tribute to that passion, Sonata, Aria, Capriccio, Divertimento, Fantasia, Serenata.
In 2023, after years of restoration work, the farmhouse opened its doors. Today, anyone who wants to meet the family can come and taste the wines alongside other local products, hazelnuts, preserves, the flavours of this particular corner of Piedmont. On some occasions, the cascina becomes something more: a stage for concerts and musical evenings, where a glass of wine and live music share the same table.
About the Wines
Our wines were named before they were made. Pietro is studying music, and when the first bottles came to life, the choice was obvious: each wine would carry the name of a classical form. Not as a marketing idea, but as a genuine reflection of who we are.
We work with the grapes that belong to this land. The Monferrato and the hills around Bistagno have their own character, mineral, generous, and we try to let that come through in every bottle.
Sonata is our Barbera d'Asti DOCG. Like the musical form it takes its name from, it is structured and layered, with the deep cherry fruit and vibrant acidity that make Barbera one of Piedmont's most distinctive reds. A wine built for the table, for long evenings, for food that deserves a proper companion.
Aria is our Dolcetto d'Acqui DOC, softer, rounder, with that characteristic hint of almond on the finish that Dolcetto lovers recognise immediately. Approachable and honest, the kind of wine you open without a special occasion.
Divertimento is our Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG. Lightly sparkling, gently sweet, with fresh strawberry and rose on the nose. A rare denomination, made by very few producers in the world, and the wine we are most proud of. For those who know what they are looking for, and find exactly that.
Capriccio is our Moscato d'Asti DOCG. Low in alcohol, luminous, intensely aromatic. Peach, apricot, orange blossom. One of the most expressive wines this part of Piedmont produces.
Fantasia is our Chardonnay Piemonte DOC. Unoaked, fresh, mineral. A white that lets the fruit speak without interference, clean and versatile, a natural aperitif.
Serenata is our Cortese Piemonte DOC. Light, floral, with a crisp finish that calls for warm evenings and simple food. A wine that doesn't ask for much attention, and rewards you for giving it anyway.
We also produce Albarossa Piemonte DOC, a rare variety, a cross between Nebbiolo and Barbera, with a depth and personality that surprises most people who try it for the first time. It is, perhaps, our most personal wine.
