Domaine Julien Chopin in Monthelon has been crafting champagne for three generations. The estate was founded in 1947 by Julien Chopin, starting with just one hectare of vines. Over the years, the vineyard expanded under the leadership of his son Henri, who took over in 1969, focusing on developing the champagne range and welcoming visitors. Today, Emmanuel Chopin, the third generation, manages the family business, blending tradition with innovation. The estate specializes in both Champagne and Ratafia Champenois, and offers unique wine experiences with tasting workshops.
Domaine Julien Chopin, located in Monthelon, cultivates Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc grape varieties. The estate offers two champagne ranges: Les Classiques, including Carte d'Or and Carte Noire, and Les Originelles, featuring Blanc de Blancs 1er Cru, Blanc de Noirs, Blanc de Rosé, and Grand Millésime. They also produce eight Ratafias Champenois, crafted from different varieties such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, including exclusive editions like Caelum.
