DOMAINE RIVIERE

Winery in Beaujolais, The Golden Stones

About the Winery

Located in the south of the Beaujolais region, in the beautiful Pierres Dorées area, Domaine Rivière is a family-run winery that has been passed down through five generations.

Our vineyards are rooted in this unique terroir of golden limestone hills, where we produce authentic Beaujolais wines with passion and respect for tradition.

Visitors are warmly welcomed at the estate to discover our wines, explore our vineyards, and share a friendly moment with our family. Wine tasting at Domaine Rivière is an opportunity to experience the true spirit of Beaujolais in a relaxed and authentic atmosphere.

Today, a new generation is joining the adventure as our 20-year-old son has recently come back to the estate to work alongside us, continuing the family story and bringing fresh energy to the domaine.

We look forward to welcoming you to Domaine Rivière and sharing our passion for wine.

About the Wines

Our wines carry the imprint of this history and this terroir. We carefully cultivate our plots to offer you Chiroubles, Morgon, Beaujolais-Villages, and Beaujolais (Red, White, and Rosé), with an eco-responsible approach, certified HEV (High Environmental Value). Our wines are fruity, smooth, and reflect the spirit of Beaujolais: approachable, sincere, joyful.

We are wine artisans, lovers of the vine. Each bottle tells the story of our land, our family, our commitment.

Craftsmanship and Family
We were at this winery yesterday, convenient for us vacationers in Lyon, but right in the center of the fascinating landscape of the Pierres Dorées. The simple and informal atmosphere helped us feel welcome despite being the only 2 visitors. The young woman who guided our tasting and the brief tour of the facility was pleasant and thorough. The language barrier, caused by our limited knowledge of French and some uncertainty in the English of our guide, was overcome, making the whole experience enjoyable.
The wine production focuses on an artisanal enhancement of the primary aromas of the grapes used and the terroirs they come from, avoiding barrique aging and using only concrete. The wine range is well-differentiated, and every wine is of quality in its own right and according to its characteristics. In my opinion, the production of white Beaujolais and certain Crus like Morgon stands out.
We look forward to visiting them again to taste the Nouveau, my wife's favorite wine.
Try the Morgon and the white Beaujolais.
