About Winery and Wines
Domaines Bunan, founded in 1961 by brothers Paul and Pierre Bunan, is nestled in the heart of the Bandol appellation in Provence. This family-run winery has passed its winemaking traditions down through the generations, combining respect for the land with a commitment to sustainability and excellence. Today, the family estate is managed by the second and third generations, including Laurent, Françoise, and their children. The vineyards, spread across three exceptional terroirs—Moulin des Costes, Château la Rouvière, and Bélouvé—offer a unique environment for producing wines with a rich sense of place. Visitors to Domaines Bunan can explore not only the vineyards but also the family’s deep history and their artistic collaborations, set against the stunning backdrop of Provence. The estate is renowned for its picturesque terraced vineyards, sun-drenched landscapes, and a dedication to organic farming that ensures both quality and respect for the environment.
Domaines Bunan produces a diverse range of wines from its three distinct terroirs, all reflecting the Mediterranean climate and unique soils. At Moulin des Costes, the focus is on producing powerful and balanced wines, including reds from old Mourvèdre and Grenache vines, which are rich in fruit and structure. Château la Rouvière, with its narrow terraces and sun-facing slopes, produces bold reds with excellent ageing potential, particularly Mourvèdre, which is a hallmark of Bandol. The Bélouvé terroir, situated in a calm microclimate, offers elegant and fresh Côte de Provence wines, including rosés and whites that embody the region’s maritime influence. Each of these wines is crafted with care, from vine to bottle, reflecting the family’s commitment to producing wines of character that honor the traditions of the Bandol region.
