About the Winery
Founded in 1893, the Cecchi family winery has grown to become a symbol of Italian viticulture, both in Italy and globally. The family's journey began with their first acquisition, Villa Cerna, in the early 1960s. This estate, originally an ancient monastery dating back to the year 1000, was recognized by Luigi Cecchi for its historical significance and exceptional winemaking potential. After renovating the villa, the family constructed a state-of-the-art winemaking and aging cellar at the foot of the hill. Today, Villa Cerna stands as a testament to the Cecchi family's dedication to preserving Tuscany's rich winemaking traditions while embracing modern innovation. The estate also features a guesthouse, created by Andrea and Cesare Cecchi, offering visitors an authentic taste of Tuscan culture and tradition.
A collaboration is born where a trained and professional staff manages the guesthouse and guides guests in an authentic Tuscan experience where food and wine come together in a complete and authentic journey.

About the Wines
Villa Cerna is renowned for its exceptional Chianti Classico wines, produced from traditional Sangiovese and Colorino grapes. The estate's offerings include the Chianti Classico Primocolle, a blend of Sangiovese and Colorino, and the Chianti Classico Riserva Villa Cerna, known for its rich complexity. Additionally, the Chianti Classico Ribaldoni and Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, both made from 100% Sangiovese, highlight the estate's commitment to quality and tradition. Beyond Chianti, the Cecchi family produces a diverse range of wines from their other estates, including white Vermentino and Vernaccia, a Rosé, and several other traditional red wines, all reflecting the family's century-long passion for winemaking.

Absolute great time
Spectacular
Beautiful place, you can really breathe in the true Tuscany! Besides the interesting visit to the cellar, we then got to the wine tasting: 4 fantastic glasses of red (we took two bottles home with us) accompanied by local cold cuts and cheeses, with the addition of Florentine schiacciata and their homemade olive oil which was to die for!
We will definitely be back, especially in the spring because it would be beautiful to repeat the experience outdoors to enjoy that view that a photo cannot capture.

Winery Visit
The team that attended to us at Villa Cerna was very attentive and kind to us, they assisted us at all times and helped to modify the reservation, since the day we had it scheduled we missed it by our own mistake…
If there is something we would like to point out, it is that the tour seemed brief to us, we thought it would be more extensive and that we would taste more wines, but I understand that the change of day could have led to some things not being done.
Nevertheless, we appreciate the attention received.
