GUASTI CLEMENTE
About the Winery
In 1946, Clemente Guasti founded the Guasti Clemente winery in the heart of Nizza Monferrato, dedicated to producing and selling the region's finest wines. As a pioneering winemaker, Clemente introduced innovations early on, including labeling wine bottles with the origin of the grapes. This significant advancement contributed to the concept of “cru,” emphasizing the importance of vineyard selection. He was the first to bottle a 100% Barbera “cru,” giving rise to the renowned Barbera delle Cascine Nicesi, which remains a cornerstone of the winery, now known as Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG Cascina Boschetto Vecchio.
Today, Enrico Piantato, Clemente’s grandson, continues his legacy. With the same vision and passion, Enrico manages the business from the historic cellar on Via IV Novembre in Nizza Monferrato.
