Cradled in the heart of Montepulciano, La Ciarliana is the realization of a lifelong dream, born from a passion for winemaking passed down through generations. Founded by Luigi Frangiosa, whose family’s winemaking roots trace back to the 1960s, La Ciarliana was established with the goal of producing wines that embody the rich traditions and culture of Montepulciano. The estate has grown significantly over the years, expanding from its original 2 hectares to 21, where Luigi and his team now produce Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Rosso di Montepulciano, Chianti, and a Supertuscan.

Luigi’s journey began in the vineyards, where he learned the craft from his father and grandfather. With years of experience as a consultant for renowned international wineries, he returned to his roots to fulfill his dream of creating exceptional wines that tell the story of his land. Visitors to La Ciarliana can expect to experience not just the beauty of the vineyards, but also the history and passion that has been cultivated here for over half a century.

We specialize in crafting elegant wines with a complex nose, full body, and smooth finish, perfectly embodying the essence of the Sangiovese grape.
