About Winery and Wines

Marzodd is a young and dynamic company committed to selecting and promoting the excellence of the territory. For each product there is the search for excellence through a meticulous selection of raw materials and the hands that take care of them. “Choose excellence” is our motto. We identify, select and bottle the best wine and extra virgin olive oil of the Apulian territory, enclosing them in sophisticated and cutting-edge packaging. Tradition and innovation blend together in wines with an unmistakable flavor declined in a range suitable for every palate. Each one expresses its uniqueness with an intimate and personal flavor that tells a story, because every story needs the right wine. Raw materials of the highest quality, strictly made in Italy, are transformed into small works of art thanks to the sinuous lines of a luxurious and refined packaging that amplifies their preciousness.

Marzodd products are born on the Apulian hills, cradled by the Mediterranean breeze and caressed by the sun under a clear blue sky. They have their roots in a fertile, rich and generous land in which centuriesold vines and olive groves stand out as far as the eye can see, cared for with passion and skill for generations. The dry stone walls, a UNESCO heritage site, frame this wonderful landscape that lives in a universe where time seems eternal.

The Apulian soil is rich and fertile and the hot and dry climate makes it particularly suitable for growing grapes. Puglia currently has 29 DOC and 4 DOCG wine regions, mostly concentrated in Salento, right in the heel of Italy's boot. Of particular interest are the red wines declined in two main types.

NEGROAMARO

Negroamaro means "black bitter" in Italian. The grapes are dark in color and the wines made from this vine have a distinct bitter profile. The grape adapts well to the Apulian climate with its thick skins and drought-resistant nature. Many Apulian rosés are typically based on Negroamaro.

PRIMITIVO

The name means "early ripening" in old Italian, a name faithful to its harvest typically early in August. Primitivo has a naturally high sugar content and its wine was traditionally praised for its high alcohol content.
