PODERE LA VILLA
About the Winery
Nestled in one of the most enchanting valleys of Chianti Classico, just 20 minutes from Florence and 40 from Siena, Podere La Villa is a small, family-run estate surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, woods, and natural springs. The winery’s story began in 2004, when the legendary Giacomo Tachis, father of the Supertuscans, recognized the extraordinary potential of this land. What started as a vineyard restoration soon evolved into a passionate winemaking project, marked by the birth of the first wine, Pargolo, in 2007. Today, the estate is managed by Ilaria Tachis and her husband Raffaele, who continue this legacy with dedication, producing up to 30,000 bottles per year. Now fully organic and sustainable, Podere La Villa combines tradition, innovation, and deep respect for the territory. The recently restored cellar, overlooking the historic Church of Argiano, welcomes visitors for tastings immersed in the beauty of Tuscany.
About the Wines
At Podere La Villa, each wine reflects the vision of Giacomo Tachis and the unique character of the Chianti Classico terroir. The flagship “Pargolo” Chianti Classico DOCG (Sangiovese with a touch of Merlot) is a tribute to the winery’s origins, while “Expecta” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG offers greater depth and aging potential. The “Giacomo” IGT, a 100% Merlot aged in barrique, honors the legacy of its founder with elegance and structure. Completing the range is “Rintocco” IGT Toscana Rosato, a fresh and refined rosé made from Cabernet Sauvignon. Produced with meticulous vineyard care—limiting yields to ensure quality—and crafted in a modern cellar, each wine expresses balance, authenticity, and the timeless soul of Tuscany.
