About Winery and Wines
Santa Lucia Winery, nestled in the picturesque hills of Chianti in Gambassi Terme, Tuscany, has a rich history dating back to 1921 when Great-Grandfather Isaia and his wife Gemma established the farm, beginning a long-standing family tradition. Named after the ancient 14th-century convent of Santa Lucia, the winery has evolved over generations, blending tradition with modern innovation under the guidance of brothers Gabriele and Gianluca. They uphold the family’s values, ensuring the production of high-quality, Italian-made wines that reflect the rich biodiversity of the land.
Santa Lucia Winery cultivates 120 hectares of vineyards, primarily growing Sangiovese alongside Merlot, Canaiolo, Cabernet, Colorino, and Syrah for their red wines. These varieties yield intense flavors and aromas, carefully crafted in the cellar. The white wines, produced from Malvasia, Trebbiano, and Vermentino grapes, are vinified at controlled temperatures to preserve their aromatic qualities. The vines are cultivated using Guyot and spurred cordon methods, ensuring a balance between vegetative growth and productive quality.
