The staff is passionate and knowledgeable about their craft, and we were given an intimate and thorough walkthrough of the winemaking process.
The facilities are excellent, and Tenuta Mara is a different experience than other vineyards. The seamless integration of both modern and classic art hanging on the walls, as well as Mozart playing in the background gives a whole new edge to the visit.
A fantastic experience that I would recommend to everyone!
Buy a bottle of both the Guiry and Maramia to take back home. Taste the difference between oak vats and the concrete vats.

Tenuta Mara, founded by Giordano Emendatori in 2000, is an extraordinary biodynamic wine estate located in the rolling hills of Romagna, near San Clemente. Named after Giordano’s wife, Mara, the estate is a holistic vineyard dedicated entirely to Sangiovese. Tenuta Mara specializes in biodynamic Sangiovese wines, carefully crafted using natural and sustainable methods. Their flagship wine, MaraMia, is aged for 12 months in large wooden barrels, in a barrel room known as "Bottaia," guarded by ancient Chinese warriors. The winery's production process is rooted in respect for nature, with each step, from harvesting to aging, designed to preserve the purity and character of the grapes. Their wines are celebrated for their complexity, elegance, and connection to the land.
